Thought Askey got really lucky today. That's not a moan by the way but they were changing players to try and win it whereas we did <ovf censored> all. Lucky win v a poor team but it's a win.

I posted on here about 75 mins in wondering when we would actually use one of the 3 strikers on the bench to try and win the game. Luckily a bit of class from amoo won it but we should have been more positive imo and pushed on. The Taylor sub was a welcome one as he looked decent but it should have been matched with pope, Cullen or even archer coming on.

Hannant imo was their best player. He was disgusted to be taken off and left down the tunnel shaking his head and refusing to acknowledge his manager.

He shook his head but didn’t storm down the tunnel he shook calderwoods hand has he came off , honestly he was disappointed but didn’t do what you said

I’d agree with this, the game was drifting. But I guess Askeys’ patience was rewarded.

He had words with the manager and I never saw him shake hands. He then sat in the dugout continuing to throw his arms about. It was a typical Luke Hannant performance wasn’t it. Had a few good runs and got a couple of decent crosses over but did nothing at all for the other 80 minutes.

But saying that , hes a mile better then most of the signings we made who can’t get a game or a seat on the bench.

I was concerned about Cambridge subs because they countered our wide players by having fresh legs in midfield. They weren't good enough round the edge of the box or we would have been in more trouble. I think Askey made the right sub, and we took the initiative again. But you know this was a difficult one and can see other peoples' views about up front.

Would you have him in the team instead of Worrall, Amoo, Montano or Oyeleke?

Absolutely not !
Just before he was subbed off he did what he used to do for us , a bit of a run down the wing then lost the ball . He will run all day but very little quality with the ball . I feel we now have competition all over the pitch and if players are not performing then someone will step in

I would have played him last week instead of Lloyd. Every  time.

He is a better squad player than many we have. Not sure of his wages or if he upset the boss in some way.

When we dont want two wide men in the team, he would be more usefull than Montano

One person that has really stuck out to me this season is Bennett

He offers so much, physical presence, quick feet, fairly quick for a big man, good finisher, seems to have a habit of getting in the right place at the right time (yesterday and FGR being perfect examples)

I think he's proving a lot of doubters, me included, wrong so far. Long may it continue!

I would have preferred him to Lloyd last week but we don't know the wage differential and haven't seen Browne play a competitive match. I think Askey will always try to play 2 wingers. He's also got options with Bennett and Archer if his first 4 wingers are injured. If Askey had Archer available last week it would be interesting to know if he would have still played Lloyd or put Archer on the right and Amoo on the left.

I am open minded about Lloyd in a midfield role as that's where he's played a lot of football since he left. He's quite a fit lad but lacks the pace you need wide in a 4 3 3 for me. Sure he'll get a chance over the season, be interesting to see if he takes it; otherwise Conference calling next year I'd guess.

I've been surprised.  Seems a player better suited to a bigger pitch like Vale Park. Despite his size he's mobile and pretty quick. Completely different as a player to Pope, which isn't meant as a criticism of either.
