4-3-3 is a system not without its inherent weaknesses. You get the impression that anyone who scouts us and comes up with a plan to nullify us will do well because out of possession we look like we’re spread very thinly.

I think Cambridge played with wing backs last weekend. Be interesting to see if they use that system against us because Salford and FGR had a lot of possession at times with that same system.

It can end up being 4-5-1 with two of the five doing eff all. Which happened Sat.

we are weak in midfield, Askey needs to either take a chance on burgess if Manny is injured otherwise why get him in? or we try get a player who is out of a side at league 1 or top half of league 2 that wants to play games and has experience at this level. we never should’ve started the season hoping our 3 CMs will never get injured or get sent off or either have a blip in form. the team needs competition all over the park and i just don’t see that strength in depth in this team, it’s the same with the LB position. yes we like Crookes and Ryan but both are inexperienced and would be best off learning from a player who has league experience otherwise mistakes and bad habits will creep into there game  more and more

exactly so if we’d had an experienced LB who has played these leagues he’d be able to step in come Saturday and show how it’s done. Crookes is inexperience at LB position and i’m guessing it would be easier learning from someone week in week out in training rather than just being coached. if crookes has another bad game saturday or the following saturday would you trust young Ryan to start?

Well cambridge are 4 0 down after 30 minutes against Swansea. No extra time then to drain their players!

Yep Crookes did get targeted Saturday but arguably their best player, Ogbu, played down the Vale's left and there didn't seem to be any cover/help in front of Crookes.  Something for Askey to think about.

No extra time anyway, would have gone straight to penalties. No Marc Richards in their squad tonight, are they saving him for us? The good news is that Swansea made 11 changes from Saturday and still won easily.

If you watch him closely, he isn't that one footed, he takes little touches with his right foot when dribbling but only shoots and crosses with his left. He isn't as obvious as Hannant but he does have more end product I think. As you say, it will be interesting to see how it goes on Saturday.
