Norman Smurthwaite bids for Bury FC

I've been trying to work out why Smurfwaite would want to get involved in football again if his time at Vale is to be believed ie threats of violence, physical assaults, health effects etc etc. I can only think that he has some form of a Messiah complex where he wants to be seen as a Saviour to the club.

I really wouldn't know what to think if I was a Bury fan but Steve Dale is actually doing what Smurfwaite threatened to do so, and I can't believe I'm typing this, Smurfwaite is actually a better option at the moment.

"Last month, Smurthwaite told Nottinghamshire Live how he still had a substantial investment in Port Vale for the next 36 months after selling the club to Kevin and Carol Shanahan which prevented him from owning another  EFL club."

The equation is quite simple then if Smurthwaite really wants to buy Bury for the proper reasons, walk away from and forgive his supposed substantial investment at Port Vale and purchase Bury but there's not a cat in hell's chance that will happen 'cause he wants to burn the fag at both ends.

One solution that could work for everybody would be for Smurthwaite to write off a good chunk of Port Vale's sale price, liberating us and him from any guarantees/securities and freeing him up to be Bury's knight in shining armour.

Go on Norm. Think of all the good you'll be doing.

Accy chairman has tweeted tonight and it suggests Bury are gone barring a miracle. Possibly knows something and generally says it how it is.

You’d assume Bury it they survive with Smurf are doomed to go down and likely wouldn’t see the investment to turn it around and would struggle in L2 so may as well just close and start again now!
