Forgot you can’t have an opinion on here unless it’s identical to yours.... people who have disagreed with you have given valid reasons just as you have and others who have agreed with you.

Lighten up kid... Despite all the things that the vale have done wrong according to you, the Vale have won, are unbeaten in 4 and are yet to go behind in 360 mins of football!

To me, it’s demonstrating the improvement Askey is building into our game, the improved culture in the squad and testament to his recruitment of players he trust to implement his game plan.

To you... it must be a miracle given how badly things are being managed!

Just enjoy it!

Best footballing performance I’ve seen for a long time! Deserved win. Pope is going to have to put in some performance to shift Bennett from playing up top, excellent display. Worrall - what a performance never stopped running, if we had another 3 of him in the midfield!!!!

Pope will play some part of almost all the games imo, just not all of every game as has been forced on us the past couple of seasons. Not saying he’s past it, but at the end of the day he is getting older and needs some breaks now and then.

A couple of mentions.

Firstly the brave decision to play Bennett over Pope. Excellent management of the team , despite his miss at Salford for 2-0 Askey stayed brave and started Bennett based on his cameo. Pope did nothing wrong to lose his place so a decision that could easily have gone belly up.

Secondly Joyce was absolutely immense tonight, he ran the show .

Hard to single anyone out really but Crookes was also a rock in the latter stages.

Everyone played their part in a really enjoyable game of football.

Fantastic win against a decent FGR side who will probably finish top 7.

I think we looked very balanced tonight, with both Monty and Amoo providing genuine pace out wide.

Bennett was very good and has a rasping left foot! He is always looking to test the keeper and I can see him getting 15 + goals.

Also, a special mention to Crookes. He gets a fair bit of stick on here, but I watched him closely tonight, and he made numerous vital interceptions. And looked more of a threat going forward. Think he will get better and better.

I’m addition, I thought Luke Joyce had a quality game. I’ve been unsure about him myself, but he was superb tonight. Broke up the play well and made some great forward passes.

Overall, it’s a brilliant feeling to get that first win under our belt. Onwards and upwards. UTV.

First half was as good as we've seen for a long time,FGR are nobodies mugs but other than Gibbo's slip and and Browns save I can't really remember them having any chances, plenty of possession but no cutting edge.

Funny how last seasons team bar 2 newcomers could put a performance in like that, the work on the training ground is obviously paying off.
