Match Thread: Salford City v Port Vale

Recommended Posts

Feels like 2 points dropped - but the players tried, just a one off mistake by the best goal keeper in the div cost us the 2 points.

Vale fans should have been named man of the match, sang their hearts out by the sounds of it on ifollow.

Unlucky Vale.

we played very well against the second favourites for the league. Continuing our good run against the better teams in the league.

Before the season I would have snapped your hand off for 4 points after our first three games. We are only one point short of that!

Those focused on the short term will focus on the results.

Those focused on the long term will focus on the performances.

We have been ahead in every game... clear up the silly stoppage time goals and we could be looking at 9 points.

Those only focused on Macc player signings need to grow up, get over it and pay attention to some good performances against top rated teams.

Frustrating and should of won it comfortably, Salford were poor especially their back four. Annoying but we are not far off, sooner or later we will smash someone I feel.

3 games we've taken the lead.

3 games we've failed to add to the 1 goal.

3 games we've let the lead slip.

If we'd have won today it would have been classed as a great start. Feeling a bit dejected now but we're doing okay I feel.

10 games is always the barometer, let's see how we are then.

Decent performance from Vale from what I saw of it but a  school boy piece of play by Montano that led up to the free kick, so frustrating.

Agreed, I'm just angry and stomping round the house because we've thrown away a lead again, gutting. When the dust settles il see this as 3 solid results. So frustrating though, need to push on Tuesday night.

Anyone who comes on here tonight moaning about Macc signings will prove themselves to be not watching the matches, not appreciating the performances and focusing on the wrong things.

The other popular trope on here is we are not attacking enough... if you watched today’s game you will see the chances we made.

Think the fans will see the chances we make, but we aren't scoring all of them at the moment.  Probably down to a bit of confidence (taking an extra touch), goal keepers making great saves (which always seems to happen against us) or one of their players getting a lucky touch and deflect it.

When it clicks with them, god help the opposition, as it could be in double figures.  The players are putting more balls into the box and making the chances, it will click - I am sure of it.  More positive this year our players can score more goals.

Another sloppy goal conceded but we're still a work in progress with this set-up.

KTF.

We missed some great chances. Bennet should have made it 2-0 before they netted. That chance for him was easier than the one he scored. Couldn’t tell who’s man it was  that didn’t deal with their lad who netted. Very disappointing but we coped well and I thought did though to win it.

Agree we should.have won, amazed some were booing the pope sub ,,, everything else was working couldnt change back 4, midfield covering well..
50-50 game first half 2nd half we were by far the better team with better chances should have won..we ask our players to give their all and they certainly did n very hard to pick a motm .
Never a freekick for their goal very soft yet legge gets elbowed we got nothing.
Overall good signs for the start to the season and hopefully keep this up and will be well clear of relegation then kick on next season...
Well lads ennoyed game if not the final score onward n upward

It'll come. Maybe not this season but it'll come. A more creative midfielder should be brought in as well as a left back. Squad is pretty balanced then

It was a cracking chance, he just didn’t get hold of it. It was a cracking ball from Lloyd too!
