Just get the bloody train, it's not hard. Keep your filthy polluting cars out of town. There should not be any parking in central Manc. The place stinks of car fumes.

It's not as easy as you try and make out, getting to Salford City is not easy, not everyone wants to go on a train with boozed up football supporters I did it once coming back from Rochdale never again thank you.

Had a spare few minutes and having wondered about parking at Salford I thought  I would give them a call and ask about parking because having passed their ground a few years ago I knew it was in a residential area.

The bloke who answered the phone was well, unhelpful to say the least, I think I had woken him up he was that dozy,I asked if there was a car park and he said "No", I asked if there was on street parking and he said "No it was residents only",he did say there was park and ride, in fact he triumphantly said there was a mini bus that would transport you to the ground,I said where does it go from, he didn't know,I asked what the charge was, he didn't know.

I said do you think that the mini bus would cope with say 400 approx supporters and I'm not joking he said "I dont know"

He did say if you get there very early there "Might" be a few places in the street but he wasn't certain.

Don't take my word for it but it seems to be a bit chaotic 0161 241 9772 was the number I called if anyone wants to check for themselves........Good Luck !

Was his name Mike Lloyd? He didn't know much either😂

Official supporters coach for me. Far less problems and door to door. Can't understand why anyone wants to take a car with all the parking problems.

Because like myself there is two adults and three kids and at 16 quid each that would cost 80 quid just for the privilege of travelling 30 odd miles!!!.

If you're driving and want to get some food/drink pre-match I would suggest parking in Prestwich, both car parks are free and there's also ample street parking on the likes of Rectory Lane or Highfield Road, straight off J17 of the M60 , right at the roundabout and a few hundred yards down Bury New Road.

If you like your craft ales go to either Cuckoo, All the Shapes, Rufus or The Crooked Man.  All extremely decent if a little small.  There's also Cape to Cuba which is a decent rum bar.

The White Horse, Railway and Naturalist and Red Lion are fairly standard boozers but in fairness you won't get any trouble and the beer is ok.  If you want to park close enough to be able to walk head to the Friendship Inn which is on the edge of Sedgley Park, it's a brisk 15 minute walk to the ground from there and you'll probably need to get there early for a space.

Food wise there's plenty of places, couple of decent Turkish places (Istanbul and Anatolian Grill), Chroma does decent pizzas or there's a Pizza Express further down towards Sedgley Park (next to the Friendship Inn).  There's Panama Hatty's if you want a steak, or if you just want a fry up Pinto's is spot on (next to the Crooked Man)

From Prestwich village you can jump on the number 97 bus towards the city centre and get off at the Moor Lane/Singleton Road crossroads which is a couple of minutes from the stadium, or get a taxi for £3/4.  You could even walk it if you're in no rush to get home afterwards, it's probably a 30 minute brisk walk.

As already mentioned the alternative is the train and to drink in Manchester itself, there's very little between the City Centre and Sedgley Park coming from town, and Sedgley Park itself is a massive Orthodox Jewish area so not exactly swimming with pubs although again there's a decent little Turkish place and a couple of other cafes/restaurants.
