I may have misheard last week's sports commentary when it was reported that Man City's current player costs are close to one billion GBP. One Billion! 😮

Did I hear correctly? Do I need to call into Hearing Life?

If true it is, in my opinion, totally obscene and absolutely out of touch with the reality existing for most folk in the UK.

Thankfully I choose not to listen to followers of the top 4-6 PL clubs wearing down their gums banging on how bliddy wonderful it is to have the best competition worldwide. If I did I would remind them that England's last World Cup was 1966.

I see that Newcastle United fans have a petition doing the rounds against Mike Ashley.

I wonder if those same supporters will be listening to Amnesty International,who have stated that if they sell the club to a Saudi Arabian owner they would aiding 'sportswashing' and supporting a regime with a dire human rights record?
