Askeys comments don’t exactly make him sound great in his interview yesterday. Said he did ok in the matches and has got some things he needs to improve on. Hopefully brown stays fit anyway

I didn't hear his interview but with a reserve goalie we are not going to sign a player of proven quality.

Whoever it is will need to bide their time, watch Brown and try and work hard and improve. Confidence seems to be a big thing with keepers.

I'm not too worried. He might not play much but he's still young for a keeper and learning.

UV is saying a potential move on the cards for a Forrest Midfielder.

after initially thinking it was Zach Clough and then admitting it was a mistake, it looks like it’s Jake Taylor.

He was the player Askey let slip about on the radio. Said he had two players in from Forrest and said the keepers name was Jake Taylor.

He must have got the names mixed up as Taylor is a midfielder. 

Was considering loan moves to league 1 or 2 last year. 

Possible move on the cards?

Askey wants rid, but Ben doesn’t want to drop his salary (which is fair enough)... therefore has turned down offers to move on as he would lose out.

I suspect Bens agent is not helping him. What use is another year of us paying him not to play to him? He needs to be playing football now unless he plans an alternative career.

fascinating read in the Nottingham post about the culture and issues in the Notts County dressing room.

I suspect we have suffered from this a little over the last few years with high manager turnover and Smurthwaite signing his own players.

Removing that culture is worth more than a star signing every day of the week for me!
