Agreed, I thought the first half was very encouraging.  All of the subs in the second half broke the game up too much and we struggled with some of the fringe players on.  Legge was very good throughout.

Yesterday was my first pre season game, I was impressed by our no. 21 Bennett?,and Worrall.

That refers to Ernie's post.

Didn't attach for some reason.

I'm only an OVF squad player.

I make mistakes 😀

I think need to go out on loan this season. Maybe a short stint on the PVO forum will help you cut these unforced errors out of your game.

Regarding Erns comments, my medication needs upping but I agree with his summing up.

Yes, we did play well, and I realise we won’t be making such mass changes during league games, but yesterday highlighted the fact that if we pick up a few injuries we’re weak. A couple of players were missing yesterday, just imagine if this were a league game and Pope picked up a knock and we still worry about Mannys fitness.

It’s fair to comment on the squad as we see it here and now.  If Askey, as he has stated, recruits another couple of players we can make another judgement one way or the other.

Overall I think we’re in a good place but a couple more attacking options won’t hurt one bit.

Dosent stop what he said being true. After our starting 11 we have very little. Granted we didn’t have manny but other than him and Cullen we don’t have much. I’d like another pacey forward / winger on the bench just for the last 30 mins.

Whitfield also fits that bill. I can’t help but think he’s a big earner that’s wanted off the books.

Thinking the same. It seems Askey isn’t too fussed if Rawlinson can’t find another club and is 4th choice CB. (Probably an average earner given he came from the Welsh League)

However, he seems to be making a point by not giving Whitfield game time. I imagine he could get a right winger / forward in the mould of Amoo for the same wages. Which I think is one of the missing pieces at present.

Also, I would really like to see a physical DM come in to complete with Joyce.

If we manage to sort those position before the start of the season, get Manny and Monty back, I’ll be feeling quietly confident we can hold our own in this league.

Am I the only one to have noticed that the last time we played Burnley in a pre season friendly we were promoted, we were at Vale Park and played in our new away strip (pink) we opened the scoring after 9 minutes but went on to lose 3-1  !!!    An omen maybe?  or I need to get out more.

Almost right, it wasn't a pre season friendly, it was a League Cup tie!
