Netball World Cup - Anyone watching ?

With the cricket World Cup, Wimbledon and the British GP, the start of the netball World Cup has gone under the radar. 

I have watched a few matches and I have to say that the speed of the games has taken me by surprise. In my teenage years I was friendly with a girl who represented Staffordshire, so was aware of the sport to some degree.

As you cannot run with the ball, running into space to receive it is key and boy do these girls do this with speed and aplomb !

I have always thought that netball would be a good exercise for footballers as running into space is paramount in netball and would encourage footballers to do the same thing on the pitch as a matter of course, which isn’t always the case.

anyway, good luck to England and the other home countries in the tournament.

I watched the England Jamaica game yesterday. That Jamaican Goalshooter was amazing - 100% success rate. When I played at school I always played Centre because it was the one position where a dwarf could have any degree of success!!

Something that often gets said is that footballers here grow up playing rugby as a second sport and as a result maybe it all gets a bit linear, a bit lateral, a bit territorial because that's how they are conditioned to thinking.

In Spain basketball is huge and maybe Spanish kids grow up with a different mindset in terms of doing all the things you mention.
