Vale fans sentenced after trouble at Grimsby

Thought it might be worth taking a look at some of the pondlife dragging our cub's name through the gutter.

Look at the state of this fat chump, Richard Whitehead (52)

Then there's the missing Chuckle Brother, Darren Underhill (51)

Bullet Baxter look-a-like, Ryan Booth (30) is a real tough guy, pictured here throwing a coin like the proper hardman.

Robert Mace (51) was kicked out of a Stoke game 3 years ago. It was probably where he got the idea for his haircut.

Seriously though, what a bunch a embarrassing losers. They all seem to have got about 200 hours of community service as wel as hefty fines and suspended sentences. Hope they never set foot in Vale Park again. There's a list of all the blends in the Sentinel, here...

Very harsh sentences in my opinion

Fair does especially those getting on the pitch and looking for it outside the ground,,others for gesticulating will have to sit on our hands, think majority of fans could be fined for this..how many Grimsby fans were done for gesticulating and also looking for trouble wonder what the fines are for ripping out toilets and jumping on cars maybe a leaner sentence.

It's worth saying that these were behind the goal (well away from the home fans) all game and did nothing other than sing their hearts out until this incident. It was, thanks to them, the best atmosphere of a dire season up to then.

Many of these are copping fines and sentences for offences that simply wouldn't be bothered with by the police in everyday situations. People square up to each other and throw a few punches in high streets, pubs and clubs every weekend. The police won't bother with that sort of stuff.

I saw what could be classed as anti-social behaviour outside Trent Bridge after the cricket last week. Fights are a fairly regular occurrence at the bigger horseracing meetings - these don't seem to be followed up by police even when there is video footage.

The question has to be asked - why do football-related offences attract such draconian sentences?

The sentences are totally disproportionate to the crimes.

By all means ban them.

Football has always been treated differently.

By the way i'm not excusing the behaviour before i get accused of it.

I was at this game. Can somebody offer an explanation as to why 29 Vale were charged yet only 2 Grimsby ? Quite staggering stats.

On the same day some of these appeared in the Lardinel and were given suspended prison sentences for in a few cases, gesticulating and waving arms about....a guy robbed a bookies at knifepoint and had a less sentence.

Also some other clown went home to get a knife after a pub row and again no jail.

A violent Rugby punch up between 18 stone of pure muscle whether it is League or Union is seen as part of the game and jolly hockeysticks for the middle classes.

The law in this country is an ass. I get that innocent folk had to witness these scenes but when i read daily articles of some druggie vermin with 123 previous offences getting a slap on the wrist again then these sentences are an absolute joke

You know before you go that violence in a football environment is going to attract a bigger punishment than elsewhere and is covered well by cctv- so don`t get involved.

It wasn`t just in the ground that there was trouble that day as it had kicked off in the town as well. Why should those of us that go to enjoy a day at the football have to put up with stupid behaviour from clowns such as those punished , who lets face it are probably the same thugs causing the trouble in town centres and race meetings etc.

Can i also add that the trouble in Portugal was quite rightly reported and condemned. However yet again huge news in comparison to over 50 arrests at Parklife music festival in Manchester for all sorts of offences.

Hardly anything in the national press as it doesn't fit their agenda.

Hopefully these 50 scumbags are banned from all festivals

It does seem disproportinately harsh when you see some of the "sentences" dished out these days.

You know the rules before you go though I guess.

Feels like lining the coffers and the fact that the main copper got a promotion off the back of it suggests there might have been an insentive for him.

We have people like this in Denmark as well, except the police don't really seem to care over here, as they pretty much get away unpunished.

I am absolutely DREAMING, of punishments like these in Denmark, as there are so many twats over here, defending people acting stupid.

Because there is absolutely no excuse for this behavior!

You go into it with open eyes, knowing very well what the punishments are. Sorry for the cliché, but 'you do the crime, you do the time'.

Everybody knows, the police have an absolute no tolerance towards this behaviour at football matches, so why do it?

Not a single person, can come up with one single rational explanation, that makes actual sense.

What surprises me most is the age of these blokes. Looks like most of them aren't daft lads but blokes going through a mid life crisis trying to reclaim their lost youth. It's a bit sad really.

Blubber man nearly didn't commit the offence because he was too heavy to climb the wall.
