Sad state of affairs there. Really not good for the fans and the long-term future of the club.

That is why it was so important that Carol and Kevin ousted Mr Smurthwaite and put the ground back into the club. This story underlines how important the Shanahan's have been. Whatever the future holds for us we still have our home for our team. Thanks again Carol and Kevin for ensuring this was not a Port Vale story.

It must be comforting for Sky Blue’s supporters to read that Birmingham have sympathy with their plight. No doubt that “sympathy” came with a request of £X Million’s for the privilege of playing in the salubrious surroundings of Small Heath.

This whole Coventry & SISU situation cannot be allowed to continue. Did SISU pass the farcical EFL “fit and proper” test ? If so, there is surely only one body to blame for this continuing saga.

I want to know what happened to the 6 mile limit rule. Not wishing ill of Coventry City but they do seem to get away with things such as the pitch invasions, one of which I recall stopped a televised game v Sheff Utd a few seasons ago. There were also invasions at Northampton and Walsall too and yet seemingly no punishment.

I doubt they will ever return to the Ricoh given the current issues, so I hope they can build a new home of their own. Imagine how bad it would be if we had to play home games at Stoke, Macclesfield or Crewe.

SISU continually blame other people for Coventry’s woes. They were recently challenging Wasps purchase of The Ricoh where they said they were not given the opportunity to buy the stadium.

However, SISU bought Coventry in 2007 and Wasps did not complete their purchase of the stadium until 2014. Simple maths tells you that they had SEVEN years to purchase the stadium !

Indeed, in 2013 they failed to agree a rental deal with Coventry City Council (the then owners) to play at the Ricoh and as we all know ended up playing in Northampton for a season. Now they’re spending 19/20 at St Andrew’s after failing to agree a deal with Wasps . So they (SISU) have a history of commercial “deals” that are detrimental to CCFC.

What SISU’s end aim is I have no idea. But it certainly isn’t the consolidation of the Sky Blue’s future, as they continually claim.

Is it any closer than Northampton was? Just thankful it's not Vale having to find a new home.

Coventry to Birmingham 21, Coventry to Northampton 33. Also Coventry to Birmingham is in the metropolitan county so there is a much better public transport network and obviously vastly superior city centre than Northampton. But of course Birmingham is a serious rival club. It is little better than Port Vale deciding to play a season at Stoke City.
