The saddest fact is that both Manchester Utd and Manchester City could have pulled together for the sake of football and funded a package to keep their smaller local rival Bury going as a Football league club

You reap what you sow...these giant clubs are destroying smaller clubs and killing them off...even taking over smaller clubs chances real chance of winning a Wembley trophy  via the Checkatrade

The game is filled with over egonistic business men and players all out to milk as much as possible for the love of their bank balance wealth...it makes you sick

And lastly the game is slowly creating a unsustanable gap between realistic admission prices and what working class supporters can afford. My criticism of the Shananan's (whom should know better) is that they have retained a £22 walk up admission price instead of reducing to a more reasonable £17-20. If it is the middle class fan she wants it is the middle class fan she will get

This was the inevitable result of the Premiership scenario. Concentrate more money in the bigger clubs and smaller clubs will lose out - mostly by the wage inflation that has cascaded down the leagues.

The CVA is now being looked into as a company was set up and purchased the 7 million debt for 70k... this company set up days before the CVA meeting is owned by Steve Dales daughters partner!

As the CVA is 25p in the pound essentially this would then pay this company over 1.25 million quid... despite only paying 70k!

If the CVA then gets terminated that would surely then see Bury liquidate (which may happen anyway without any trading) and that’s then that.

Issues with Mortgages and interest at 130% or something also.... and something weird with the car park! it’s an absolute shambles!

Bury are "actively considering" legal action against the English Football League following the club's "unfair" expulsion on Tuesday.

Members of the club's executive met on Friday to discuss their options, having earlier sent the EFL a letter questioning its handling of the affair.

The Shakers were expelled after C&N Sporting Risk pulled out of a takeover.

"All options are on the table. One that has to be considered is legal action," said the club's lawyer Chris Farnell.

"At least three bids went in on Friday before the deadline. The EFL allowed an extension for one bid - from C&N - but other bids were attracted and submitted to the EFL and it would appear they weren't considered.

"There's been no explanation."

In a club statement issued on Thursday, Bury confirmed the EFL would not be rescinding its decision to expel the club - despite the Shakers saying a £7m takeover bid had been submitted prior to Tuesday's second deadline.

The club have since sent a letter to the EFL setting out a list of questions - seen by BBC Sport - including:

  • Why a late £7m bid from Brazilian multi-millionaire pastor Gustavo Benedito, which emerged on Tuesday afternoon, was not accepted. Benedito is a close friend of Bury's goalkeeping coach Adriano Basso.
  • Why the EFL said that a bid from an Italian consortium had not been received when the club insist it had.
  • Why the offer from C&N Sporting Risk was the only one accepted by the EFL and the only one granted an extension.
  • Why is it proportionate to consider dropping Bury five leagues - the club want the EFL to consider dropping them down to League Two instead.
  • Why owner Steve Dale passed the fit and proper person test.
  • Why the EFL refused to meet with representatives of Bury on Friday.
  • Why ex-Port Vale chairman Norman Smurthwaite was not considered to be an appropriate owner.

As sad as it is that the club has been kicked out of the league, I think they have a bliddy nerve expecting to just drop back down in to the league they've just come from. Also, I thought the league had approached Sexman but this seems to make out they correctly deemed him to be a cu*t.

Statement now on Bury's website by Steve Dale. One of the things he is saying is that Bury have only been expelled for this season. The whole thing is a mess and surely on their fans behalf there should be a very public enquiry.

Think there's one thing the football world has learnt over the past 6 months is not believe a word Mr Dale says.

Also baffled they really don't know why Smurthwaite was not considered an appropriate owner.

Bury clearly have not learnt anything over the past few years...now threatening to take legal action against the EFL!  Unbelievable.

Worth a read, I thought they had be chucked out permanently however Dale says it's only for one season ?

An expulsion is just that. If it was only for one season, or a compulsory relegation like happened to Peterborough all those years ago (when Vale had to apply for re-election) I'm sure they would have said so.
