May on the way??

That clip of Johnson talking about painting models of buses is extraordinarily painful. He looks ill, both mentally and physically.

Along with his domestic the other night, he's not in a good place at all is he?

I wouldn't want to be PM and struggle to understand why anyone does but appreciate someone has to. Interesting to compare Tony Blair before he came PM and after, took a visible toll on him. I dont think Boris is in a good place to start from.

May does not have to resign, the vote is only for the leadership. If she considers that Boris could not command the confidence of the house she is within her rights to carry on, she could then seek a vote of confidence for herself.

From what i understand she offered her resignation and it was accepted..... ie she would have to gain the position again......... if that's not correct who would support her?..... the Tories count afford to.

It was worthless.

Rules are rules.

That wasn't your point. He lost the popular vote. He is President because the US like the UK has an antiquated electoral system. I thought you were a huge advocate of the side that gets the most votes wins??

I'm a huge advocate of winning by the rules whatever they are at the time.

It's just a complete and utter mess.

I wonder how many across all parties and in the country at large wish we could turn back the clock, forget the referendum ever came up, get on with pressing domestic matters and have Cameron still at the dispatch box.

Yes, I know many certainly would not with a capital N, but I'm betting that many others perhaps secretly think so.

We've had three years and counting of stagnation, huge economic and social costs, political inertia and an increasingly polarised nation, with the UK itself at risk. Madness.

It's a pity I couldn't have had a bet on all this happening. I guess I might have got 10,000 to 1.
