Very hard to articulate what tonight meant.

 

There has been times in the past months and years where not only have I questioned my personal affiliation with Vale, but the club's existence in itself.

 

Whilst we may not seen instant, seismic on the field success, we can be sure of a club protected for the current generation and the ones to come, by people who aren't in it for the ego trip or the money, but to serve Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, and the Vale fans.

 

Carol and Kevin have a massive, massive job on their hands. I'm happy to give them the year to get it in order. Tonight was infinitely smoother than any other event the club has held, which is testament to the work done by Max and his team. However, I'm happy to content myself with the knowledge that Vale is safe hands and success is coming, at one point or another.

 

There have been a lot of people who have done a lot of things to keep this club alive; some named, some not named. Everyone who in any way contributed to the survival of the club can carry that with them whenever they enter the ground.

One person that may be allowed some freedom, or to fulfil a job description, is Colin Garlick and the Vale support team. Hopefully with his rapport with Carol and Kevin, plus the willingness to provide a structure of openness, from top to bottom. We shall see the, so called little bits, that do make a difference, filter through. Vale is a commmunity. We all do our bit, (some moan more than others, but that is life). Lets support all the initiatives and suggest more, if we can. At least now our opinion will be listened to and we can help in our own way. UTV

If any one needed to know the meaning of the phrase " A breath of fresh air " then if you were there tonight you would have understood what it meant.....What a difference from the sarcastic, dismissive,patronising,illiterate,argumentative and arrogant person our ex owner was,Carol and Kevin really are " A breath of fresh air "
