It’s a team game and the benefits are shared out between the squad.If I was a defender and scored a goal I would be happy that the forwards were being rewarded for my goal.Same as if I was a forward and cleared the ball off the line the defenders would get the benefit of a clean sheet.Over the season it would balance out between defenders and forwards and encourage players by getting extra pay from their efforts by scoring goals and keeping clean sheets and is self financing.

It also means that only players in the team get the benefits.

At the time of writing the "oh dear comment" there are 5 or 6 comments....

 

Most commenting on how they never give 2 year deals

One bad one.

One that says "Play to his strengths, and he'll be a good signing. Lots of punts in the air, and he'll cause chaos. Finisher like Shaun Miller alongside him, and they'll score a few"

 

 

But no, classic OVF... focus on the negative

 

"Oh dear"... behave!

 

 

Askey says he wants Pace... so lets not assume this is THE ONLY forward we are going to sign. There will be more. Bennett seems like a long term Pope replacement. A option up front for when the Pontiff needs a break.

I'm quite pleased although it's hard to see him and Pope playing together.

But we didn't have an alternative to Pope last season and this lad fits the bill nicely.

 

That's how I see it too... we have too much of a reliance on Popey. Meaning he often plays when he is not fit. A proper back up who can share the load in games and across the season should allow us to see the best of the Pontiff.
