The “support network” behind the scenes to look after the players was being allowed to run down by Smurf, that includes stuff like matchday and training preparation with meals, drinks, transport, accommodation and even the state of the facilities within the club. All run on a shoestring or neglected to the point where players were having to sort themselves out at times. Players shouldn’t have to worrying about bringing their own stuff in.

 

I think they alluded to some of this in their press conferences, but the new owners have had to bring in more staff and provide better facilities to make sure this aspect of the club is running as it should be.

Anybody know much about him?  S pose the thread will be jammed again with "he played for Macc, he's crap"  comments. But I'm genuinely interested, not heard of him - mind you that means nowt these days for me!!  Old age thing.

Seems like a utility player - predominantly operates at RB, but has played LB and CM too. 

Sounds like a good squad player to have and still young enough to improve.

Another that falls into the bracket of splitting opinion.

If you want cheap athletic cover for RB, and Defensive Mid who “thrived” (according to Macc forum) under Askey then it’s a sensible signing.

if you want expensive glamour players then this ones not for you!

this shows me that Gibbons is definitely first choice this year!

Hardly the most inspiring of signings is it though? I understand that JA wants players he trusts but this is not a signing that improves us in this area compared to last season - where we nearly got relegated.  

I think all we want is a signing on the same level as Amoo or Cullen.

Jesus wept another ex macc player. Would have preferred the lad we had on trial he had some decent pedigree. There must be some money left over for one more decent signing surely? 

It’s another signing I don’t really understand. We had vassell this lad sounds very similar, in terms of everything. Unless he’s going to be on less (doubt it as vassell gone to macc) then I don’t understand it.

Gibbons should absolutely be 1st choice RB for me.

Even if we'd have signed Mitch Clark I'd say this. Hope we can get 40+ games out of him this season as he will prove to be a great RB in L2.
