Askey has also said they play against Forest under 23 and there are three or four players of interest with a view to a couple of possible loans maybe.....however that said if the four trialist sign then that is already a squad of 23 senior professionals plus the three

Anyway after such speculation the known facts are that Askey plays 4/3/3 and likes a small squad and Durrell is still available. 

 

I can Imagine askey is after a first team right back after last seasons issues.

That's a good shout. There are plenty of players still out there who would improve the team, and he is definitely in that category.

He’s comfortable at both full-back positions and in the middle. I’d say that’s exactly the versatile quality we need.

I don't think we need another left back now we've signed Crookes. Lloyd and Monty can fill in there if required.

We do however need another right sided defender.

Vale are at Forest tomorrow in a training ground game versus their U23's, which gives Arthur the chance to look over any potential loans. For anyone interested, here is their U23 squad:

The only one I recognise is Toby Edser, highly thought of by Forest on their website, but we've already had him on loan.

It could be helpful to us later in the season if we get a few too many injuries or suspensions, you never know.

He's certainly been lauded by many on here in the past few weeks.

His Cambridge stats are not brilliant.

Over two years, 31 starts, 36 sub appearances, 7 goals.

Maybe used as an impact sub, which is very useful.

Can't say that I know as much about him as some appear to on here but that seems like a very good signing & just what we need - a pacy winger who can hopefully provide lots of assists for the strikers, as well as chip in with a few goals himself.

May not be a Guppy  🙂, but Steve only scored 12 goals in 100+ appearances for us. Hopefully he settles well and provides the goals for others.
