In the replies to the announcement tweet, two Wrexham fans offer their view;

 

He's been on loan since Xmas. Did a very good job (he wasn't on loan but a permanent)

 

Very solid defender all round, we signd him on a short contract after his release from Shrewsbury in January, scored 2 goals for us definitely will be a solid defender in League 2

 

Upon asked about his height, and whether he is 6 foot, a different fan said:

 

Taller. He's a good 6"2 if not more

 

A reminder Wrexham finished approx 5 places below us last season and invariably would have beaten us if we'd played them.

Poor signing again in my opinion.

 

Wikipedia isn’t always accurate on height. I don’t remeber Mark Marshal being 6’ 1”

I don’t know Kennedy and have no idea what he is like. However I do trust the manager and if he thinks he can get the best out of him and any other signings that’s good enough for me, Askey is the manager and hopefully knows what he is doing whereas I am not the manager and as much as I pretend otherwise wouldn’t have a clue what I was doing, however mention lying on the sofa all day do sod all now I would be an expert at that !

I can guess who you are talking about on Twitter. If it’s the same one he was made to look a right fool after criticising Crookes... his defence was that Crookes should be able to take it and he welcomed criticism of himself as it made him stronger.

 

Which was hilarious because when one bloke criticised his opinion he started swearing and losing it like a 5 yr old and deleted all the tweets.

Thinking positively he’s young and won’t be on much and previously played for asked. Hopefully freeing up funds for the attacking players we need.

 

In realistic terms on paper it’s a real strange one that yet again would’ve been met with uproar if signed under the previous chairman. (A lower league signing one a 1 year deal)Strange imo to sign someone who only played 13 matches in the whole of last season though. I’m guessing he will be on the bench behind legge and Smith. But only 70 games at the age of 25, the majority of them in a lower Divison we will have to wait and see.

 

It’s another one like crookes and burgess that will be good signings if we sign 3/4 quality players as well. If we end up bringing in a whole squad of players like this then I wouldn’t consider them good signings.

 

Wrexham fans look like they wanted him stay so that says something. But I don’t like this signing players on 1 year deals it’s as if the manager has doubts.

New signing seems to be positively thought of by both Wrexham and Macc fans so not a bad signing. End of the day our defensive record was ok last year, if hes good enough to oust Legge or Smith great, if not decent option to have,

The standard in the National League is not much different than L2. He could well do us a job.

 

I'll trust the manager's judgement on this one.
