And that is why I absolutely loath agents with a vengeance! They are at the top of everything that is wrong with football today!

But they have managed to make a narrative, where they seem indispensable. That players from the age of 10-12, will never amount to anything, unless they have an agent. And they really have players brainwashed into thinking, that they only wants what is best for them, the player. But fact of the matter is, that being an agent is stone cold cynical business! The agent only wants what is best for the agents bottom line. Nothing else, nothing more! They are modern day charlatans, of the worst degree! I hate them, absolutely hate them!!!

 

If I had a son or daughter who promised big things in football, they'd definitely have an agent - me or their mum!

Don't get me wrong, he is the perfect age and profile for us to be signing, looking to develop and potentially selling on for a profit.

 

However, every time I've seen him play I've been left unconvinced by his defending and he hasn't stood out as head and shoulders better than our other full backs. I'd actually been more impressed by Crookes until his shocker against Macclesfield.

 

Would be a solid signing but not one we should be whipping ourselves up into a frenzy over.

Exactly! I’ve told that to academy players time and time again! Agents can’t do anything, your parents can’t do. I’ve even offered my advise as a gesture several times, because I care about one thing the agents don’t: the kid in question!

In fairness to both askey and pugh, I suppose they could simply be reporting what the player's told them. Either way, it's complete garbage.
