Total garbage yet again from an abject apology of a team. The error I made was buying a ticket for the Bury game next Saturday. No excuse I did the same with Cambridge last season. I need to be sectioned. I hope the sale goes through then I will buy my season ticket. Get rid of this dross. I must be a masochist. I’m already looking at the league for next year to suss out who we might finish above. At the moment I can only spot Crawley. No hopers (Brown excepted).

Cambridge winless in last 7 home games nearly as bad as Vale.

Yet again a season starts with promise but fades into utter tripe, Vale were clueless today, a total shambles.

The club is in such a perilous state and position at this moment in time that unless decisions are quickly made, Smurf leaves, Synectics assume control, a manager is appointed, plans in place and good players recruited then I fear the worst next season.

This has to start with Smurthwaite leaving the club now, not pontificating for a few more months. Go now Smurthwaite.

Pope is only as good as the service he gets which today was nil.Macc put two players on him who didn’t give him a sniff. So predictable all season.

Elliott showed today that he is just a headless chicken and not good enough for league football and not worth a contract when we need experienced players. He reminds me of a poor mans Ben Williamson.

You would expect the players in the team today to be playing for a new contract but obviously not.

I am not saying for one minute that Elliott is the answer.

What is blatantly obvious is that Our better performances under Askey have been when we have had a more mobile forward up top to pressurise defenders and then w3 build on their mistakes and create chances.

It is a long time since Tom has worked opposition defenders. Has a role as an impact sub, but for me no longer an automatic pick - if we build our strategy around him next year we will continue to struggle.

Great servant, but his impact is on the wane

Another last home game of the season which the poor Vale faithful who went had to endure .

Watched it from 30 mins online ,oh my how poor were we .

Well done Macclesfield they wanted it our players didnt .

Great goal win it for them .

Vale well the usual embarassment to the badge .

Goodbye another hopeless campaign at home .

We are hopeless we stayed up on a few good performances.

I hope for their sakes they’re we’re lying down today because if that was then doing their best then a lot of players are going to struggle to find new clubs.

Players who weren’t complete rubbish today: Conlon, Clark.

We should be full of pride for the way our bunch of professional footballers (yes; they do make a living out of this) respect the opposition. On a day when conditions were so poor, they collectively decided not to risk embarrassing the Macclesfield goalkeeper by not having a shot at him. How thoughtful was that? And, yes, they still got paid!!!
