We are beginning to build a nice team, based on keeping the ball and using speed and trickery down the flanks.

All of a sudden we look to have an abundance of attacking options, yet a bit thinner at the back and in goal. Funny how it's all changed.

That said, we've done nothing yet and playing two poor teams hasn't proved anything. Once we've started beating the likes of Spain, Germany, Brazil and Belgium I'll be more inclined to beef us up but we need to win something before we get carried away.

It is much better on the eye, much better I fully agree. But I'm not convinced at the very highest level that a handful of them are good enough. The keeper is dodgy and not dominant enough. Keane isn't international class. I'm unsure about the full backs. Walker oddly doesn't seem as good as he was 12 months ago. And, clearly, we have to wait and see how the likes of Sancho, Rice and H-O develop in the next 12 months.

I thought the 2 wingers were excellent last night. H-O was simply wonderful for an 18 year old. No wonder Munich want him.

Kane also had a solid game without doing anything spectacular. He holds up the ball so well and brings others into the game. He's brilliant at that and a lot of what he does is unnoticed.

Makes a change to look forward to seeing England play!

We have beaten the likes of Spain. And Croatia. Unless the Nations League suddenly doesn't count? If we beat the Netherlands mext I hope some start to give the credit our players deserve instead of saying if's and buts. There isn't another team on the planet that is as well stocked as we are in the full-back areas either. On current form Walker and Rose shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11 but I suppose Walker gives the bit of experience managers like teams to have. Keane also only started yesterday because Gomez is injured and Stones isn't fully fit. As a fourth or fifth choice centre back he's perfectly adequate.

If England can get the chemistry right in midfield then we have a real good shot at winning the Euro Championships, especially with the semi's and Final being at Wembley.

It's been our weakest area for a while but the near and long-term future look far more optimistic.

Defensive midfielders:

Rice

Henderson

Dier

Delph

Central midfielders:

Loftus-Cheek

Barkley

Winks

Ward-Prowse

Longstaff

Cook

Attacking midfielders:

Alli

Oxlade-Chamberlain

Lingard

Maddison

Foden

Keep an eye out in the future for Mason Mount, Oliver Skipp and Ronaldo Vieira too. I think Skipp is a potential England captain one day.

Likely team for tonight's semi-final against Holland?

Pickford

Walker

Stones

Maguire

Chilwell

Rice

Barkley

Delph

Sancho

Rashford

Sterling

Replace Delph with Lingard and I think you've got it. Really looking forward to it up against a Netherlands side that's very much like England in that they have a very young squad overall and are clearly a side on the up and progressing well. There won't be a better centre back partnership in world football than Van Dijk and De Ligt, while they also have Frenkie de Jong and Justin Kluivert who are big talents. Memphis Depay is a better player than he showed in a Manchester United shirt too.

It's going to be a very diffciult game for England tonight. Come through it and something just may be coming home!

Don't think we'll frighten anyone with a midfield of Rice, Delph, Barkley and/or Lingard.

It's a pity that Loftus-Cheek is injured and Foden not quite ready.

The Dutch are on their way back. Definitely.

But the Portugal team are no mugs and have some talent. Ronaldo and B Silva are a couple of good forwards for starters.

I think B Silva is a superb player and goes under the radar a little bit at City.

Rice is a great young player and Barkley, on his day, is a match winner. He doesn't have that day anything like often enough to be fair. I can only imagine Lingard is still in the squad and possibly team based on him being decent in the World Cup, because he's done nothing in a United shirt for a while now.

I think everyone knows that B. Silva is a brilliant footballer. But he's not quite as good as Kevin De Bruyne, which is possibly why you feel he goes under the radar a little bit. It's the same for him in a Portugal shirt too obviously with Ronaldo.

I'd literally said out loud a few times before that goal happened - 'Stones is a liability'.

He is simply not good enough and is always likely to make a mistake like that. He just does not learn & should not be playing for England if Joe Gomez is available to play instead.

Southgate must learn the lesson from this & not pick that clown again.

Maguire and Stones should never pull on an England shirt again. Both of them are pathetic, especially the latter. The sooner Joe Gomez is back and playing regularly in a Liverpool shirt so he's in our backline the better.
