Mr Smurthwaite's games begin........

Recommended Posts

Just listened to the interview. The man sounds frantic.

As a businessman, I expect certain levels of professionalism and Norman continually astounds me with his utter lack of it.

“No one likes me anymore so I’m not playing, and I’m going to ruin it for everybody.”

Everything he says makes no real sense. Some business ventures simply do not work. The sign of a good businessman is to know when to cut your loses. Sell the club (and ground) for a realistic price and move on to pastures new. There is no shame in that Norman. There is no need to relegate our club out of spite, no need to leave people jobless, no need to screw over supporters like my son who is 6 years old. He’s never said a bad word about you has he? He just wants to watch the team he loves.

I understand you feel aggrieved that the fan base has turned on you but the reasons are obvious and to be honest, at this late hour, utterly irrelevant. Be a professional for once in this torturous tenure, put your toys back in the pram, your dummy back in your mouth and sort this out like a real businessman should.

I implore you.

Ooh Mark on P&G, you’ve rumbled us all mate. We are racist scumbags that won’t be happy till we’ve got an owner with a Potteries accent.

I honestly struggle to understand how these people formulate these mad opinions.

its got to be a member of his family ,probably his son or son in law exact same twang and mannerisms.

also it made me laugh when he said synectics only made £4000 profit on a £17 million turnover.. 4k is more profit than our dictator makes but this guy was funny as he tried to rubbish all apart from the evil one, think even the presenter had guessed and nearly laughed at one point -bet the number was a Leicester one

Is his son called Mark?

Not sure, but he was very funny and obviously not to be taken serious like his dad-

one thing his dad doesn't have the money to run vale he needs to take cash out of the club to sustain his lifestyle rather than let the club keep the money it generates.

the family really have an issue with synectics can only be that carol is a lady, successful and outbid the evil one for the land they now occupy...

my opinion is wildes led the group consortium with whole aim for NS to take over , the apparent ring fenced season ticket money had disappeared after out of admin (wonder if this was someones profit for stumping up original cash share)conveniently only noticed when NS took full control ..sounds all to convenient...

NS when taking on full controlled milked the promotion enjoyed slashing cost to maximise what he could take out with the aim of achieving then to wind us down and then selling and leasing the ground or using the ground for other purposes...

the football side was always going to be someone elses fault and is a smoke screen to divert attention from his real intentions.

Now Mark what do you think about that

I see that the club have had to issue a statement in the last hour saying that all events will be honoured at VP. The club have already received cancellations due to the fat blue one threatening to close the place.

But I thought Mark Porter and Black & Gold were responsible for us losing revenue?!

There appears to be people who think they can turn things around Joe.The next door neighbour for one.

Give them a chance and see if they can. If all income streams went into the club they might just manage it.

It's no use knocking if theres no one in,some and there aren't many left now, have backed themselves into a corner and can't be seen to admit that Smurthwaite is just a complete joke and a dangerous one at that.

There are three bids in at the moment, the Asian consortium have paid £100,000 to see the books, if every thing is in order, they will pay 2.8 million and rent the ground, no idea who the other interested parties are, at this stage, this Information as come from BBC Midlands TV.

Doesn’t he have to declare that 100k and it should be shown in the accounts.

As he can’t say he is putting it in the club it becomes income and attracts a large amount of tax.

Suppose he will try to write it off against his supposed Directors loans.

I was obviously very wrong about NS. It seems he has split the money-making part of the business (the stadium) from the money-pit that is the Football Club (all of which he paid a total of £1.25 million for) and now has a queue of people wanting to purchase the Football Club for millions and eager to pay him rent.

NS is, in fact, a genius.

I couldn't agree more. The football club makes a loss, he props it up with directors loans, which he aims to get back via a sale. In the meantime the stadium business pulls in cash with very few outgoings and he's laughing. I'm sure he's made enough from the ground to cover any and all money he's loaned to the football club side. If we go into admin he, graciously, wipes out his loans in the knowledge that anyone buying the club from the administrator's will (almost 100%) have to rent the ground off him and as part of that rental agreement deal the buyers will have to forego concession and function sales to Norm.

Any purchase price for the club and the ground before may 5th will be high to reflect the income he's planning on taking from the ground if the club does end up in admin.

The man's an Asset & Soul Stripping genius.

Anyone can say they’re on a business trip to Hong Kong when they’re on a sun lounger in Spain with a companion.

I’m sure I read/ heard that he had been spotted in Spain with a ‘companion’ when he was telling anyone who would listen that he was going to Hong Kong.

Him for being an asset stripper or me for believing he's an asset stripper? 😂

One thing I know is he will (and probably already has) made is money back and more some. If he can do that without losing face by not selling to Carol he will however I don't believe there's any other viable bidders at this point.

If we get relegated via admin or otherwise it doesn't matter to him, as long as he's gets his cash. Theres no Asian bidders, he knows the shanahans don't want to start their tenure of the club in the conference so they will likely pay an inflated premium in the next few weeks. If they don't it goes to administration and he wins anyway.

All this about administration stuff is crap. If he's going to pay all the debts off and no one is owed any money and he is the only owner then he can just dissolve PVFC and cease trading. No need for administrators.
