Mr Smurthwaite's games begin........

Recommended Posts

Valiants,

In the last 48 hours, Mr Smurthwaite has initiated phone conversations with members of both Black and Gold and the Supporters Club. In these phone calls, Mr Smurthwaite:

● Queried why the SC and B&G were raising money to remove him

● Offered concern that we were asking for money under false pretext

● Claimed he will withdraw all financial support for the club as of 30/4/19, leading to insolvency. This would lead to administration and possible liquidation of Port Vale Football Club. He claimed the protests were causing this, and was going to announce it at the April Supporters Club meeting.

Coming from two independent sources, we take these threats very seriously. We are now working with the relevant organisations in order to address these threats.

We would also like to reiterate all funds donated to the GoFundMe will be used to fund existing and new protest initiatives, and ongoing legal costs. Any excess will be pledged to the new owners of Port Vale. A link to the GoFundMe page is included at the end of this release.

Thank you for your continued patience and support.

Black and Gold

I can't believe he doesn't just take the Synectics offer and walk away. This is a fight he can't win. If he does fight, it will damage the club and his businesses and, potentially, his mental health. But PVFC will continue regardless of his antics. NS currently has the option of doing the right thing, announcing his retirement and selling the club for a reasonable price and walking away with some dignity intact.

Imo the EFL and the FA will take great interest in a scummer threatening fans to liquidate a League club when there is a very good offer on the table....

I do wonder how the trogs he sends out will stick up for him on this one,i also hope the sentinel take this on to get it out to as many fans as possible, time to crank the pressure up

I don't think that he's ever had any!

very true,

he can't buy respect something he craves,

Interesting how he has queried the money being raised, perhaps he wants he grubby hands on it probably thinks he deserves a cut.

Would love for someone to get unofficial merchandise ie club tops maybe with an old badge on that could be sold and make money for the cause in readiness for when he departs in whatever guise that is(plus we will have a ready made strip ready too).

smurthwaite the clock is ticking, hope you are enjoying the ride its a road to nowhere...

you cant win -- take the deal financially you gain but shown up as someone will run the club much better and be held in higher esteem

let the club fold you don't have any funds for a club you could have sold only an old aging stadium with a covenant on it..synectics pick up from where you left off

carry on as you are , the club deteriorates further with much less revenue and more costs hurting your beloved pocket until either of the above happens

heads vale wins

tails you lose

you need the fans the fans don't need you
