Chairman 1 Chairman 0

One of the first issues raised at the SC meeting tonight was included in the report by chairman Mark Porter. He reported on a telephone conversation which he had had with Mr Smurthwaite in which the football club chairman told him that he (Mark) would be responsible if Vale got relegated, that he was responsible for the club losing a £500,000 ground sponsorship and that he was responsible for the club losing a £100,000 deposit on a new pitch. All of this because of the protest organised by the SC. He also said Mark should resign his position as Chairman. A vote was taken on this - no one wanted Mar Porter to resign and he was unanimously supported in a voted of confidence. Mr Smurthwaite had also issued a veiled thread to Mark about what would be coming through his door.

When Colin Garlick faced questions he confirmed a few things that have been suggested on here but denied by some:

1. NS has taken some of the club's income to pay off his director's loan. The accounts at the end of March will show by how much the DLA has been reduced. We wait to see whether this reduction bears any relation to the amount of unbudgeted cash that has come into the club.

2. NS has been signing players.

3. The income streams from the kiosks do not go into the club.

4. Colin Garlick knew nothing of the proposed £500,000 stadium sponsorship.

5. Garlick will encourage/advise NS to sell if a suitable buyer comes on the scene.

There was other stuff as well if anyone wants to add to this list.

Quite remarkable really given that NS told MP that he'd already spent £100,000 of it on a non-refundable deposit for the pitch.

Either Smurthwaite's pants are on fire or Garlick's a mushroom.

If not into the club where are the kiosk takings going? My guess is Gorm's back pocket.

Well, no more pies and drinks for me and certainly no season ticket until he's gone.

Probably a separate company. Peter Coates (before bet365) used to own a stadium catering company that also supplied all the food and drink to Stoke (as well as many other grounds up and down the country).

Didn’t we have Lindley catering just after we got promoted organised by ‘I’m good at spending others money’ but fans reported problems and the relationship had to be scrapped?

Not sure, just responding to poster REP.Lindley were based in Newcastle near to Barracks Road which was also where Provincial Racing Headquarters was based.
