But I tell you why he won’t because Garlick is eating up a very big salary at the club and there is the reason why the managers salary of the better managers is an issue.

Only a fool would doubt Sting on this matter. 35,000 of the Queen's finest is not what was offered this time, it is what Mr Askey was expecting, Sting knows. The offer made by Mr Smurthwaite was below this and the wage demand would not be met.

The manager always makes less than the players. Even the best paid ones.

Even though Pep has a very nice salary, it’s not even close to their best paid players.

 

At our standard that should never happen, I think it’s disgusting in the greed is good League too but Christ our players are garbage and for a manager to be paid less than any of them is offensive.

 

They lost Aspin his job ultimately given their underperformance and clearly have little or no respect for him or the club. The fact they are earning more than their boss in some cases clearly is an issue.

Sorry guys but just back from Stafford rangers and after talking to somebody I trust and is in the know Smurf is looking no further than Pugh with Popey doing a dual coaching and playing roll. If it's true it proves Smurf is either skint or he wants the club to fold?

The fans begged him for a CEO, we appoint a very experienced football man to the job on a big salary (don’t believe it’s quite that big) but for me you don’t need a CEO if you have a very experienced Manager like Adams etc.

I was told by an ex-employee that it was Pugh to the end of the season. I said before it is a rumour because I haven’t heard it from the owner himself....but even then I doubt you could be certain.

I think part of the problem is that Smurthwaite genuinely doesn't know what to do for the best and needs a bit of help.
