That's true but as long as the majority of the fanbase are then I will be happy. Smurthwaite has had plenty of time when plenty were giving him the benefit of the doubt but that ship has definitely sailed and he has now run out of time.

I would primarily look at either selling or getting investment in if money is a problem. Why not sell shares or in Smurfwaite’s case create a board and sell places on it to give people the chance to be stakeholders in the club.

 

Of course we don’t have a board or any other investors because Smurf likes full control...yet he does not have the personal funds to do this with the club successfully.

I dunno, seems to me like you could split the ground from the club, ban the Sentinel, fall out with the manager, lottery ticket sellers, Community trust and police and still enjoy near universal popularity.

 

I think even if you admitted to forcing out the manager after throwing a tantrum following a cup defeat because you're both mentally an infant but also too cheap to pay to actually sack him then you'd be pretty popular. Even if you then employed a useless foreign manager and a bunch of amateur level European players from an agent's catalogue then at least half the fan base would give you the benefit of the doubt. This is of course after you've openly admitted to a racist hiring policy whilst simultaneously insulting the fan base - just claim you've been hacked if things get too rough.

 

Yep, I think you could even do worse than that over a period of several years and still some would support you.
