Where is Rawlinson, and why aren't we playing him in cenral defence with Crooks at left back?

I really don't think hes a left back by trade. When a player says hes versatile and can play centre half, midfield and left back that doesn't scream specialist left back to my mind.

 

I also can't believe that we've ever seen him play at left back either, so why not have a look at him there today?

 

Am always wary when they say a player is versatile.

Pretty much means he is tripe anywhere and hasn't nailed down a position, Phil Neville springs to mind though obviously streets better than our dirge.

Pugh could have gone to centre half if we really wanted to see this new player at left back. Surely Aspin won't throw the new lad straight in as left back come this weekend? Would he?

Agreed. Over the last few years, we've signed plenty of players who can play in any position across the back four... it just means they aren't good enough in any of them.

I thought this. I thought we were making progress by getting an actual left back in but, in typical Aspin fashion, nope - just another centre half to go with the 4 we already have and the other one on trial (Streete).

Have we cornered the market in Centre - Halves yet ? Perhaps following Brexit someone has heard there may be a shortage.
