Where's the pride gone-and why can't we have Ainsworth??

There's no pride in the team, the club in general, the fans are divided and no sense of solidarity. Think back to the Rudge days for the last remains of pride in the team and the club...we had a team roared on with every touch of the ball and every player gave his 100%...not because he was afraid of being dropped but because they had PRIDE

We had a time that attacked from the beginning and made every pass, every run, every touch mean something. Now we have a soulless ground, a soulless team and a soulless backroom staff

For those who question why we would want Ainsworth here...look at his record. It is nothing to do with him being based in the south and having a band that will have any bearing with him coming here. Why the hell can't we get a manager from f** Wycombe? Where is the pride in your club when you believe the club could not entice a man who had his best playing years here in front of thousands and playing for a club with passion and a burning desire to get into the top tier? Why can't we have Ainsworth?

And those that keep replicating the argument that former palyers don't work...well it's not as if Aspin nor Glover have the same calibre of record as Ainsworth whom has taken a very small club with a limited budget into the 3rd tier-something which neither Glover nor Aspin will ever do

Let's have some pride in the club and get Norman to see we will not settle for second best...we are the mighty Port Vale and we can get to the Premiership one day...with a manager with passion and one that plays to a tempo...such as Ainsworth

Have some pride in the club and lets make our owner know anything but the best we can get at Port Vale isn't good enough

Said with feeling but I think the National League and the Evo-Stik League are more likely than the Premiership.

Unfortunately the team is full of losers. Why is Popey always throwing his hands up in despair , because he cares. Why was Brown rollocking our defence , because he cares. The rest , largely used to losing so whats another defeat.

We talk about who Aspin will sign in the January window, can we sign winners please. Players who wont accept defeat because they have that winning mentality. As regards our manager, a winner as a player but cannot impose that on our players.

Top post that as those were the days when every supporters voices could be heard in a good way .

Ainsworth would run through you if he couldnt get around you .

Was good watching Vale then .

Aspin was also in that team and i feel ever so sorry that the players (his top targets he didnt get in the summer)he has has obtained have not performed to the standard required and if they have or are ,or look inside themselves and believe they are then non league is closer than we think .

Bad times at the min but its been like that for years .

Only good players make a manager good ,you can set a team up how you want but if you aint got desire application and want to A keep the ball out of our goal

B to put a tackle in and not give up

c to have the guts put the ball in there net

Then you have no chance .

Aspin cannot kick the ball for them ,cannot mark the players at set pieces ,cannot cross the ball for them .

Id love see a Vale who you dont want miss a game again .

At present the lack of folk attending tells you all you need know .

Just taking two of the better performers yesterday - Nathan Smith (the other three in the back four were shocking) has started 117 league games during his time at the club and has been in the winning team just 30 times. Add to this 3 wins in his 10 FA and EFL games. A total of 33 wins in 127 games (around 25%). Luke Hannant, a consistent 6.5 out of 10 most games, has played 45 league and 2 FA and EFL games since he arrived at the club and has been on the winning side just nine times. Less than 20%. Even players used to winning like Scott Brown have now become used to losing. The club is in a sad state and I cannot see it getting any better while Smurf and Aspin/Nogan are still here. Not sure if it can be saved even if they went though such is the state of the place.

Why would he want to come to Vale?

The club is run by a chairman that seems set to close the club once he has all the money out of it he can and then sells off the land. That can only be the answer why the club is being run as cheap as possible.

I haven't read Micky Adams' book but apparently he has some pretty scathing words for Smurf.

If, as reported, Adams preferred Bratt to Smurthwaite as a chairman that tells you all you need to know.
