Newport doing very well against Leicester.As it stands it’s currently 1-0 to Newport and they are giving Leicester a good run for their money.Good to see it what cup games like this are all about.

 

Still a long way to go would be good to see Newport to hang on as I would expect Leicester to come out for the second half and win this game.

That was a cracking game.Well done Newport County.The beauty of the FA cup. Leicester threw everything at them and they stood firm never backed out of challenges while under a lot of pressure for a long time.Kept battling and believing to the end.

Either the premier league is overrated or we underestimate teams in our league,Newport are one of the teams Vale fans think we should be beating but on that evidence and the performance of other lower league teams in the cup this weekend I'm not surprised we are below half way.

We were scheduled to play them last Saturday, Semenyo looked good, could give us some problems, on loan from Bristol City and tracked by Manu. Hopefully Vale will watch the recording before we go there. Back to the game, a fully deserved win, well organised and played to their strengths, whether Schmeichel would have saved the pen who knows? A risk you take if you don't put your best team out.

Bit of both I suppose, first time for 30 years that 2 top tier teams have lost to a 4th or lower tier team on the same day, in spite of mainly under full strength teams being used. Barnet also won at the Blunts. In theory, with so many foreign players in the Prem/Championship, the displaced English players are employed in lower leagues, they seem to be at other clubs, even Woking had a couple.

At 1-1 with not long to go Fulham got a pen for a pathetic dive. They brought on Mitrovic who is their designated penalty taker. He took the pen with his first touch - keeper saved it and Oldham scored the winner a couple of minutes later!
