With regards to Howkins, by the way I like the lad.

But whether he is Maldini or Zak Jules, isn't it rather strange for a departing manager to line up a deal as a parting gift?

 

Because of the last minute nature of all this I'd be surprised if the new manager is aware of Howkins ?

The tide only comes in to where it comes in...... unless you dig trenches to extend its reach... why dig the trenches?

There’s a lot of competition for centre half spots if Howkins comes in. Rawlinson smith Legge Crooks Vassell and Howkins himself. I wonder now Aspin is gone if the writing could be on the wall for Vassell. Plus with so many centre halves to choose from it’ll be interesting to see what formation the new manager will play, stick with 3 centre halves or go to a more traditional 4 at the back.

Only as strange as having a manager whose heart is in the club, but that is not always enough for various reasons.

Personally I’d go straight to the police and wouldn’t give it any validity but I’m not the owner who really should be focusing on bringing in at least one striker and a decent manager (NOT ASKEY!).

I think if we sign him permanently and not loan then that’s ok . People thinking we are loaning him when the original source said we had bid for him
