Match Thread - Port Vale v Stoke C U21

Brilliant reaction from the Stoke fans to the minute's applause for Errol. The majority of them behaved themselves thereafter but a minority of absolute idiots let their club down badly. I actually feel sad that decent Stokies like TP get tarred with the same brush as these ****** when they are as disgusted with the behaviour as we are.

I go home and away and I can honestly say I’ve never seen most of the scumbags causing havoc this evening.

The scary thing is we’re not talking 18-25 year olds in a lot of cases, it’s blokes in their 40’s and 50’s. Totally embarrassing.

It doesn’t hurt in the slightest, genuinely not one iota. The youngsters weren’t great, once Vale picked their strongest team it was always destined to go that way.

Just disappointing that a load of idiots ruined the occasion.

Youre not two faced like some but i dont believe it doesnt hurt.

You seem genuine.

If our under 10's lost to stoke i would feel it

Stoke under 10's that is , never mind the first team

Just for info TP, our strongest team had four players who were in non-league last season, two in Gibbons and Smith who'd come through our Academy and a 22 year old, Tom Conlon, who had been kicked out of your Academy because he wasn't good enough.

I can empathise with that TP. After the trouble at Grimsby last year there were a load of pics in the Sentinel of those involved. None of the regular away fans recognised any of them. This is nowt to do with football.

And therein lies the problem with modern day academies, the majority of youngsters just don’t get any competitive game time.

Much better to be in the first team of a lower league club getting games under your belt.
