Not sure how you can say they wasted millions on an academy based on 90 minutes of football. Ridiculous statement.

Your current crop got pasted by our team, which was half made up of u23s. Not a single one of them looked up to scratch. None of them are anywhere close to the first team, with Golden Boy Shotton not tearing up any trees in non-league.

Your previous crop of youth players have yielded Ryan Shotton, possibly Tom Edwards. Championship players at their very peak.

It wasn't based on 90 minutes football. How many players have come through as first team regulars since it was set up?

"They have wasted millions on an Academy which, judging by last Tuesday, is not fit for purpose"

You judged by last Tuesday in your previous post, make your mind up.

Your question about how many have come through is a separate one, so far not that many. However am academy doesn't open on day one and start producing 1st team players on day two, it's arguably a 10 year+ process and we were starting from literally nothing.

Players like Campbell, Verlinden, Edwards, Souttar and Sorensen may not have covered themselves in glory in individual games like the Vale tie, but they have all been in and around the first team and there's high hopes for them.

I guess we'll see, but to say it's a waste of money when the club now has a state of the art training facility and academy on the balance sheet is a bit hasty.

That shows great forward planning as they are now in the Championship!

Two from your Academy who have made it at league level - Tom Conlon and Theo Vassell - but you chucked them out!!

Has the FA or anyone from the football authorities stepped in as this is hooliganism where it’s not necessarily fighting in or around a ground but vandilism and destroying of property by fans from an opposition club. As well as 6am knocks on the doors the guilty should be facing criminal proceedings and Stoke City even at least from a PR point of view should assist in payment for damages made by their supporters. The silence and lack of cooperation with Smurf will only add fuel to the fire of hatred against Stoke City by Vale fans and perhaps other football supporters. If this type of behaviour is to be stamped out and the guilty found to be accountable then appropriate action needs to be taken. Over to you Stoke City, Peter Coates et al.

I agree, YV - but as far as Coates and Stoke City are concerned, we may as well throw pebbles down a well.

Come on don’t be harsh they managed to beat a poor Leek Town team last night in the Staffordshire cup.

Surprisingly the toilets survived the onslaught and live to fight another day.Seems to have gone deathly quiet regarding last Tuesdays hooliganism on Radio Joke and the Senile.Even the police seem to have given up with no new arrests despite clear video evidence wrecking the toilets and jumping on the woman’s car.

What made me laugh was the footage in the toilets on the BBC blanked out the faces of the perpetrators.

political correctness gone mad where their rights come before showing their faces and identifying them doing a criminal act.

I’ll take that response as a “you’re right I did base it on last Tuesday”.

Any way into the game is commendable whether it be through the Premier League, Championship, lower leagues or non-league. Time will tell whether their careers go forwards or backwards but good luck to them.

Surprising that as some are still claiming it’s a hot topic up and down the country.
