This from new owner of Nuneaton Borough Football club (remember Smurf owns the ground)

Smurf said in October he would wave the money owned in rent.

There is also a "conversation" of text between smurf and the new owner on Facebook page (nuneatonBorochat) threatening "default on lease"

Can any @NuneatonBoroFC fans recall where NS agreed no rent would be due until new owner found and it would be from that date onwards? That individual has sent a bill of rent from June - December and demanding £5000 or pull players he’s loaned. cleared a bailiff yesterday 2 😲

Is there any truth in the rumour that Smurthwaite has called Dior and Calverley telling them not to turn up tomorrow as their contracts at Nuneaton are cancelled.

I thought he was only the landlord, so how can he make a decision like that?

Also I thought the loans were agreed until Jan so that can't possible, can it ?

Surely he is running the risk of conflicting interests between two clubs?

Not sure if he can recall them as Port Vale chairman or not? Depends on the clause I guess.

players can only be recalled from long-term loans (those over 93 days) if being recalled to be sold to a different club.

he may be landlord at Nuneaton but he is chair at Port Vale.

A Player on Long Term Loan may not be recalled, except for a goalkeeper or

where the Player is to be transferred permanently by the Club (or club) holding

his registered contract. A Player other than a goalkeeper so recalled cannot be

permitted to play for the Club (or club) holding his registration after such recall

until the end of the Playing Season. Players so recalled can only be replaced by

a further Long Term Loan with permission from the Company. Long Term Loan

Transfers will not count against the number of Short Term Loan Transfers

this is what Nuneaton goal-keeper had to say

What an absolute **** he is *♂️ he’s throwing himself under the bus here with the underhand **** that’s gone on involving him! Himself and port vale could be in big trouble! #Idiot #UpTheBoro

Also - in a reproduced text convo with Nuneaton owner - Smurf said (this on facebook)

"Money not showing pulling

Players as stated will not

feature again"

The ownership issue from June-October was never really clarified, and their keeper makes it very clear who he thinks owned the club...

The blokes bleeding us dry, taking any and all income from the club into his back pocket, and is now squeezing any last income from Nuneaton into his greedy paws.

Anyone who comes on here and defends the bloke isn't really a Vale fan at heart. The bloke is a cancer, a leech, and very dangerous.

As if this absolute ************ has any right to impact the young careers of Calveley and Angus? Young lads out learning their trade, being caught up in Norm's game to extract as many pennies as he can from football.

He really isn't a good bloke. At all.

To be fair Calveley is getting decent experience there. Less so Angus as he's older and already proven himself at that level. It's doubtful they'd get any gametime at Vale Park outside of an EFL Trophy appearance or two.

Is Smurthwaite doing this for five grand of rent money? Thought that sum wouldn't fuel his car for a week?

Yet more sad reflection on our Club. When will people come to their senses and realise He is dragging us to the bottom of the abyss? The man cannot behave like a human. His arrogance and belief that he can do whatever he wants without being questioned is beyond credibility. He has to get out of our lives. His shadow is slowly enveloping Vale and we will pay for ALL of his insane antics. Smurf OUT.

As I recall Smurfthwaite only bought Nuneaton’s ground to “help them out financially”, or words to that effect.

Well, if this is his assistance, God help them if they upset him !

As The Blue One is destroying both our clubs, why don’t Nuneaton fans come to a Vale match and protest against him and we do the same over there ?

A novel way of showing both sets of fans’ frustration at his antics , which may get more media coverage than the usual “get out of our club” line ?

Just an idea.

Absolutely true. They’ve been told not to play.
