Falkirk is an interesting club. Got a nice stadium in the middle of nowhere. I tried to plot a route by public transport from Arbroath to go and watch my Scottish team - Montrose play there in a cup game. But it was surprisingly difficult and I gave up. In the end my visit dates changed so I couldn't go anyway. From what I have seen of Scottish football Championship level is about League 1-2 in England. So it was not an implausible loan to get game time at a decent level. So a pity it did not work out. Aside from getting fit, I think Turner has to transform himself. Why not go and play right back?

The shocking part of this is that, due to some insane rule (not sure if it is UEFA, FA or EFL) the boy cannot play for us or anyone else until January. How can that be fair or compassionate?

Agree, ridiculous rule, he’s registered as a Port Vale player but not allowed to play for us, by the time he is, the match fitness he built up on loan will be gone.

I was at the Falkirk v Montrose match in July for the Scottish version of our Checkatrade Trophy game.

Turner came on as sub around the 65 mins mark and did ok. He didn’t look out of place, but didn’t pull up any tree’s either. In fact pretty much the same as he as looked for us !

Falkirk looked a poor team and this side would struggle in our EFL 2.

On a change of tact Falkirk have a 3G pitch and critics of these surfaces should watch a competitive game played on one.

We all tend to think of artificial surfaces in the context of the original Luton, Preston, QPR version, but these modern surfaces are a million miles better ! In fact if you didn’t know it was artificial, you could not tell by the way it played.

In my opinion, this is something the EFL should look at and allow clubs to install one if they wish. It certainly would not detract from the product on show and with the winter bog we play on, would certainly be a big improvement for us.

Agreed, it's bizarre that you can play world cup matches and champions league games on them but not league 2 games!

I thought the new ruling worked both ways - in that if only half-season and full-season loans are available then both sides have to commit fully to that time. If the parent club has to commit in terms of he can't play for us, shouldn't the temporary club have to commit by keeping the player till the end of his spell.
