They had 10 men, we didn't score in open play again, we didn't win, we looked worse against 10 men and bar a superb save from Brown and them spurning chance after chance we've lost.

Did you watch the match? We were saved by a penalty that played the last 15 minutes against 10 men and looked the more likely side to concede. Great I’m over the moon we managed to get a point at forest ******* green. Great stuff!

I agree that Aspins not covering himself in glory and is being deservedly questioned but anyone who thinks any manager will be a success under Smurthwaite needs a straight jacket and a padded cell.

 

Look at the evidence, since Smurthwaite became involved day to day, we’ve lurched from one crisis to another. Any manager Smurthwaite appoints will fail for three reasons:

 

1 He’s a terrible judge of character

2 He knows nothing about football

3 He’s a cheapskate, megalomaniac, narcissistic, *****

Coincidentally or not, at least when Miller came on we got the ball down a bit more, Hannant who had a much better second half, got into the game more as did Whitfield but the service again was poor, especially from the flanks and I can't really remember any chance being created from open play!

 

They had some really big defenders, in fact huge defenders and an even bigger keeper who was catching everything with ease, yet we still insisted on continually smashing the ball down their throats.

 

I am also wondering if Brown is under orders never to roll the ball out to FB's, at least if he did, and we did go long, it would mean pushing up the midfield and we would at least stand a better chance of keeping possession if we did, but this hoof ball version of football clearly does not work in this league, not unless we had two Popes and a marauding midfield....we don't!

 

The defence again looked really shaky without Legge, and only profligacy on their part and some more great saves by Brown allowed us to leave with a point.

 

I am not an Aspin out kind of guy, but the more I see of his tinkering and tactics the more I can at least sympathise with those who are. Happy with the point, and happier with the second half performance(just) but no one surely can be happy with what we have seen thus far

Couldn't agree more--let's get some perspective into this--FGR are unbeaten and much more likely to be play-off candidates than a lot of teams. An away point is therefore good for me!

Having been dire in the first half it's a decent enough point possibly should have won it but still don't rate Aspin he always loves a safe option rather than trying win.
