Who gets the tenners?

I believe the Football League media deals are still done by FLi (Football League Interactive) so I guess some will go to the FL in general and some will go to the club.

I think this is broadly how it works with the existing iFollow subscriptions - in that some goes to the FL and some to the club.

I know it's selfish but for someone like me who lives a five hour round trip from midweek home games, has young kids to look after and whose other half often works evening shifts, it makes travelling to midweek games nearly impossible.

So even though there won't be a fan in the ground it at least means that a) I get to see midweek fixtures b) the club gets a bit of cash from me that it otherwise wouldn't get.

This is really bad news for the game as a spectacle. There will be a massive difference between the cost of attending games and sitting watching it at home. Unless the home club drastically cuts ticket prices for away fans we'll see games with far fewer or even no away fans.

As a regular user of Ifollow because 95% of my work is outside Europe I don't think the impact will be that great. It's a long way down on Sky coverage of Premier League games. It's a poor substitute for the real thing.

I've decided to try this ifollow tonight.

Just so i don't get stressed trying get it going...i'm a hammer and chisel type of bloke not an internet savvy sort. Have they sorted it out now so it works and is easy to get working?

It has improved dramatically in the last year. The picture is excellent, but video is about two seconds behind commentary. Just register and use your email and a password. Relatively painless, and I’m not that great on technology.

Hope that helps a little. UTV
