Ricky Miller - Why is he unable to play?

Given the cloak and dagger approach to this by the interested parties (Club, player and FA), do we think it's something serious. It just seems very strange to me that he is unable to play even pre-season friendlies (unattached players can, players who are on a suspension from the last season can, etc). No FA charge appears to have been brought or is pending (from the FA pages, presuming that these are up-to-date), and his previous issues with the FA as detailed on the site appear to have been fully resolved. There is no indication from the match reports from Peterborough or Mansfield games that he took part in of anything particularly untoward (certainly not to warrant an indefinate suspension). I'm beginning to think that this 'incident' may possibly be a drugs or gambling issue. I could be completely wrong. Something is definitely not right, and it must be serious or surely it would have been given more detail (e.g. if it was an incident in a match, then this would surely have been reported). On the flip side, Aspo says that he knew about the issue when he was signed, so surely if the Club were expecting there to be serious potential repercussions, we wouldn't have taken the risk?

Obviously the club aren't going to say anything. But maybe we signed him knowing that the issue would be resolved soon and isn't something what would be long term enough to scupper the deal.

We had a similar issue with Regis last season who played a couple of games and then was left out as he was not available to play for the club. Nothing ever seemed to come out on that one apart from Aspin saying that he had an attitude problem and was then free to look for another club. Hope it is not a fetish with Aspin to sign these sort of players.

It's the players, FAs and clubs business..... just because people want to know they don't have to quench that curiosity..... and I'm pleased they haven't... if something is proved it may be a different matter

correct geo, there are some people who don't like anyone prying into their business but want to know meggsarse of everyone elses.

The facts are:

1. The FA have banned him from even appearing in friendlies until the issue is resolved with a disciplinary hearing (due next Wednesday).

2. The club signed him in full knowledge of this issue hanging over his head.

3. The player has been involved in both off the field (drink driving, assault) and on the field disciplinary issues (biting) in the past.

4. There was an alleged incident at some point last season to cause this hearing.

That would suggest to me that Aspin believes that either Miller is innocent of any wrongdoing or that he believes that any punishment from a guilty verdict would not be severe enough to dissuade him from signing him. Possibly both.

Blimey, this came as a bit of a shock to me as I thought he was injured in training, not banned by the FA.

We need him back asap. He's going to miss nearly all the friendlies (at least) and if he doesn't start playing games soon he won't be fully match fit for the big kick-off.

Let's hope the FA tell us he can begin playing games again after next Wednesday or we'll be planning for the start of the season without him and that will be a huge blow to us. We're not overflowing with goalscoring strikers.

Miller is not innocent of any thing. He has got into a car not once not twice but three times and been caught not being able to control the said car. He has been CAUGHT three times wich means this was probably a daily occurance.

Miller could have caused the Death of our Partners, Sons, Daughters with his behaviour.

Then add to this he faces disciplinary action for his actions within his workplace .

All this adds up

To a man out of control with his Problem. Aspin has a lot too prove with his choice of players. Two if not three have gone pear shaped already ,
