Sale of Wembley

Recommended Posts

Is there nothing sacred in English football any more? The FA are the ultimate 'pigs at the trough' where anything and everything is up for sale. The amount of money pouring into the English game is more than ever before and more than could have ever been expected yet still they want further profiteering. "It will help fund the grassroots of the game" - yeah, and I'll be the first man on Mars! If the deal goes through just how much will be invested in, say, Port Vale Ladies, or any other development of women's football, or even lads school football for that matter? They must think we've fallen off a Christmas tree. Can't wait to see England play an international two days after an NFL franchise game has remarked the pitch and churned it up like Farmer Giles' fields.

It has taken the Swansea manager who is in fact from Portugal to question what is next on the sales list? Big Ben? Buckingham Palace? The fA are quite frankly a bunch of greedy money grabbing rear ends who could if they wish too plough this 'grass roots' money into the game if they wanted too. Shame on them all for even considering it!

Hasn't it already happened when England lost to Croatia 2-3 in the final European Championship qualification game in 2007 when England had to draw to qualify, pitch was in a terrible state but particularly a quagmire down the right hand side (side of the camera).

Nothing is sacred in England/UK any more, whether it be football related, key businesses, utilities etc, absolutely anything can and will be sold off. A true disgrace.

Can't say I'm bothered much and it doesn't surprise me that in this day and age the FA are yet another organisation who know the price of everything but the value of nothing.

We can move games around the country as other international teams do. Old Trafford, Anfield, Newcastle, and the new grounds in London at Chelsea and Spurs and Arsenal. Plenty of possibilities if not the huge capacity that Wembley has for the very big fixtures.
