Tinpot, like Mansfield on Saturday against us.

Vale fans have short memories. In our promotion season, we played Bradford on a Tuesday night in March. We hadn't dropped out of the top 3 in 6 months but had lost our previous two matches. The crowd to watch a side 2nd in the league? 4281.

Talk about tinpot...

I've got a great memory,at least we managed to average a decent 5,727 for that season,Mansfield are averaging just 4,289 despite going for the play-offs and spending a shed-load of money.

We're undoubtedly a bigger club than Mansfield. Always have been and always will be. However, I hate it when Vale fans get on their high horses about attendances, we have our fair share of shockers.

FWIW, if you take a out the 'perfect storm' Burton match and the promotion clincher against Northampton, our average for the other 21 home matches in 2012/13 was sub 5000. To put that into context, Chesterfield (a club many of us would class ourselves to be bigger than) are averaging 5375 in a season where they will likely finish bottom of the football league.

The Torquay match was a Friday night if memory serves me right.

The initial "loss" is how Smurthwaite would look at it unfortunately, but from Walsall's point of view, what if the increased attendance / atmosphere helped them to win? Led to survival...how much would they save compared to relegation? Garlick mentioned in pre season how much relegation cost us. If we weren't so hung up on this idea of a loss for a one off match, we may not have lost out financially through relegation.

At last....someone who knows what time it is. Our away support anywhere south of Birmingham is crap, and this season we've had some really crap attendances at home (there was one with less than 3k Vale fans there).

Our support is fickle.

I WILL NOT attend another Vale game until Smurf has gone.

Yawn. I've heard the same thing for the past 20 years. I won't go until Bill Bell goes. I won't go while V2001 are in. I won't go while Glover is in charge. I won't go while Sinnott is in charge. Change the record. Support the team as a whole. For me, the V2001 protests show how things should be done if you feel strongly enough - protest before the game, go in and support the team, then protest afterwards.
