I'm amazed that so many are happy for him to stay.

Me too. Pretty obvious a few of those will be wums, Stoke fans, or people close to him. That won't count for all of them though, so it's still pretty shocking that Vale fans could support the man that is clearly destroying the club. Oh well, each to their own.

It is being reported that attendances at Vale Park are slightly up to 4,087 from 4,036 last season.

 

A good owner, a good leader a good people person would have thanked supporters personally,thank us for standing by him and the club despite desperate times this last two seasons,and understanding the angst the supporters have gone through.

 

A good owner, a good leader a good people person would issue a positive statement, saying that hopefully next season, given a fair wind we can have a better campaign and in the management team we have now, we have reason to be optimistic.

 

He wont and why not? This is the reason why Smurthwaite is so unpopular except for those who are hangers on or deliberately argumentative by ignoring the facts of his tenure.

 

The attendance figures are pleasing,and a platform for moving on with a positive attitude,Smurthwaite will just ignore it and miss a trick.

 

A league lower and we've gained a few more fans,surely not?

Sadly, the blue one has put himself back in the spotlight this week with yet more bizarre words and proposals. I'd much rather discuss the decent looking new kit or the new signings but clearly NS craves the attention. Enough is enough. Get out of our club.

There seems to be the green shoots of recovery at Vale Park - a management team we think we can trust; a good looking kit and a sensible approach, thus far, to recruitment and squad slimming-down. But - that single word I used - trust - cannot be levelled at Smurf. He always seems to be one step forward, two steps back with his dealings with the fans and it doesn't seem to have clicked with him that, do the right things to make up for his wrongdoings and we probably would begin to trust him again - eventually. But, as this seems unlikely - Go, Smurf - sell up to a proper owner!
