id like to see the profit and loss account to see what the turnover was. Comparing 2016 to 2005 the turnover was nearly the same, average gates were identical, cup runs identical, admission prices more in 2016, football league payments and academy funding up by 1 million in 2016 yet turnover hardly budged. There was the small point of no commercial income in 2016 yet it was £850,000 in 2005. Someone appears to be diverting income elsewhere,

Players wages don't influence turnover, just the profit or loss made from that turnover. Having said that, the wages are not actually that much different. Remember when I questioned Smurthwaite about turnover a few years back on here? He couldn't give a straight answer and eventually told me to go and play on a motorway! There are hundreds of thousands of pounds that used to go into the club that no longer do, that is the bottom line.

Briefly speaking to Norman on Friday he said the club made £400,000 profit last year of which £200,000 was the payments made to the club as 'Exclusivity payments'

 

After a discussion about his Directors loans he also said he would wipe them from the accounts/balance sheet and convert them to 'equity' i,m sure the Accountant people on here would know what that means!

 

The next installment of the Hugil transfer money is due this coming December (£600k)and would be put into this years playing budget now didn't ask if he was putting it in this summer or it would be available for next Jans transfer window

 

He is looking forward to Aspins plans this summer and re-iterated that the budget would be total walk-ups this season plus the season ticket money for next season

Yet only last week he publically said the club was losing £160,000 a month and even you were questioning how that was possible? He also said when he pointed out to potential buyers how much we were losing they ran a mile. Which one is it John? So we received £200k in exclusivity payments and that meant we overturned £160k a month losses and made £400k profit, his calculator isn't working again. As for the Hugill money, there were reports from the Preston end that the Hugill money has been paid in one lump sum so I don't believe his version of that either.

Just throwing this out there....in my mind if I was him I would want something other than equity in a failing business for the 3m loans. Let’s be honest 3m of equity in a business that loses money isnt worth jack. If I was him id sell the ground back to the club for a matter of pence, dissolve the company and then once the ground is once again part of the club take my equity which is now worth more as the company I now have equity in has a large property as part of it

 

why would he do that when he already owns the ground in a separate company? What he'd gain on one hand he'd lose on another.

It's big pinch of salt time.... the Walter kitty of the football club owners world speaks and nobody with a sintila of common sense takes any notice because spending time trying to make the figures and statements coincide is futile....
