Disturbance in Bycars

Can anyone enlighten me on what happened during the second half at the back of the Bycars yesterday. The chap who sits behind me was ejected but I’m not sure what for. There was a man and a woman who went out and then came back in, who both seemed very agitated by the situation. Another bloke who sits by me said he was going to the toilet but never returned. It was all a bit bizarre with the number of stewards involved and the shouting and aggressive behaviour shown by them.

Wasn’t the chap who collapsed was it?

I sit just in front of the incident and tbh the first I knew of it was when about 5 or 6 stewards and 2 police officers were escorting the old couple( they were both probably in their 70s)out of the Bycars. The old guy turned to a younger guy, whom I assumed was his son, and shouted” it’s not them David,(meaning the police) it’s these stewards.

The old couple, as you describe them, seemed to be in and out of the door at the back of the Bycars so not really sure what was going on. I asked the woman why they just didn’t sit down and she said that someone was being thrown out over one word. But was that one of them or the bloke who sits behind me ?

The elderly couple and the younger chap are part of a group of about 6 or 8 who go to every home game and have done for years. They are always out in the smoking area at the back of the Bycars even though they don’t smoke, may find out what went on at the next home game if this hasn’t put them off going.

The chap who sits behind us, who was ejected, is not part of that group. I know that he lives out of the area and comes on his own. Would say that he is in his 60’s.

The other chap who went to the toilet and never returned is older and sits with a chap named Plant and in front of Jeff Kent. Hope he is OK.

I know somebody was ejected for swearing, because one of the stewards decided to play God.

I know one or two who go in there, & they seem to have had numerous issues with stewards recently. Same goes for the RP/RS, didn't we have stewards kicking off over people standing etc not too long ago?

I generally only have any sort of interaction with them outside the ground, at the turnstiles they're generally friendly & when I get searched occasionally, they're pretty laid back & it's all good natured. Seen a lot of new faces inside the ground though recently, & I've seen a lot of complaints on Facebook & elsewhere since.

I can safely say though that after being to around 30-50 away grounds, the behaviour of the ones at Crewe yesterday & the treatment of some fans was probably the worst I've witnessed.

Didn’t go yesterday as I rarely go to away games nowadays so cannot comment on the stewards at Crewe. However back to Friday, I’m not sure why the guy behind me was ejected from the Bycars but there were about 6 stewards all with attitude and aggresion issues trying to resolve the matter while seemingly making the situation a lot worse. I wouldn’t like to cross those stewards, they were quite violent towards at least two elderly (over 60) male supporters.

P.S. I am over 60 years old myself with a heart condition but the stewards would not know that and I dread to think of the consequences had they treated me in the same manner that they tried to deal with the situation.
