A friend of mine who hasn’t been the Vale for a while tried to take advantage of the 2 for 1 offer.He tried to get his Crawley ticket online(which in itself didn’t best please him) yesterday morning but, as said previously, was met with “No tickets available” message or something to that ilk. Guess what ? He didn’t go the game. Complete and utter shambles.

Some people have as someone kindly offered me his free Lincoln ticket as he's not able to go. A mate will make use of it.

But it wasn't a good offer. I said as much beforehand. Offers should be targeted at people who don't regularly attend, so you have to put yourself in their shoes. There were two big issues with the offer;

 

1. You're asking people who don't attend regularly to commit to 2 games in 7 days.

 

2. However it was dressed up, you still had to pay full price to watch Vale v Crawley, an unnattractive fixture.

 

They were two major factors that were easy to predict. You then get the fact that marketing didn't go beyond social media promotions, and the online system failed.

 

All combined, the offer has failed dreadfully. The club simply don't learn from their mistakes, and as you've done, they'll blame stay away fans. The only way this was going to work was if the offer was seperated between the two games. £10 per game, because then you can promote them both seperately. What promotion can they do now? None, and a lot of people who would pay full price for both have now paid half that amount.

 

These are basics the club are getting wrong regularly.

I tried to buy online, got frustrated and thought bullocks to it. It's dead hard to just hand your money over to Vale sometimes and get them to take your custom.

 

Suspiciously you didn't get an error message when you tried to buy a ticket, just a thing on the front page saying 'no matches are available'. #strokeybeard

You're missing the point by miles. This offer was a flop because of an absolutely abysmal promotion of it.
