Can someone ask why this happened at the meeting tonight please?

You would think that you'd get all hands on deck for a couple of hours this morning considering we've 2300 tickets to sell, but this is Port Vale - a club with ZERO ability to plan strategically for anything, no matter how big or small.

yes its crap but even our current league position is it really important to raise to three people who dont have any say in the running of the ticket office. Lets stay up first and worry about ticket queues for another time surely

Conrad - Yes I am a pensioner but not all pensioner have finished working for a living - Some of us do a 35hr week on a voluntary basis. I have Vale friends of all ages - well not many below 30yrs old. Sometimes them youngsters need help and so ask for it and when I can help I do. If you restrict your social group to all one sort and type of people then you will all have the same challenges. Thats what I meant in my earlier posting about having forsight - You know there will be a problem getting tickets for Crewe - there always will be because we have never failed to sell out since I first went over 55 years ago. This match has been on the cards since the fixtures were announced so there has been ample time to make a friend, go see Andy in the shop, find out who to speak to behind the scenes so you can explain the problem you have with getting to the ground to pick up a ticket - BUT do this about 2 MONTHS before the game is scheduled so that you can act on what you are told or even to make different approaches. Its about planning and not just going on a social web site and saying everything at Vale is rubbish. Hopefully next season both Us and Crewe will be in the league together and the match at Crewe will be another nightmare for some folk to get tickets - so what are they planning to do ? Leave it till they go on sale and say - I can't get one or will they take some positive action - Here's one suggestion - for all those who can't get a ticket - make some sort of offer to someone who is out of work and club together and give him/her a few quid to queue up. If it is done earlier enough its a win win situation. Ok there will be them that say what if he/she runs off with me season ticket etc - Well get to know them first meet up in a burslem pub on regular basis - ok its only a slip of an idea but its about planning. Or another one, get the supporters club to find a "reliable rascal" who is out of work and willing to queue up- Surely those in employment wouldn't mind stumping up the price of a pint each if it meant them not having to have time of and queue - would you ? If you dont see what I am getting at then I'm afraid I cant make it any simpler than I have here - and at end of it its all about the individual - does he/she want a good moan or do they want to do something positive. I'll leave it at that.

Not even that mate, its not like its a surprise we have drawn crewe yesterday and people couldnt make arrangements for a ticket. The fixtures were released in June and I assume everyone moaning here worked in June....they have had 9 months to workout how they could get a ticket sorted then moan that they didnt get one and blame everyone else.

Of course not, principle the same, details to suit each club. A loyalty scheme based on away tickets bought is a just reward for the travelling support.

our travelling support is usually about 300-500, is it worth spending serious man hours and money on a scheme to track tickets for one game a year? which remember vale get no revenue from...... clueless

Surely they've only got from the point at which the ticketing arrangements were announced? Unless they're expected to block out months in advance every day from late Feb onwards on the off chance that's the day the tickets go on sale.

Why, what damage has "OVF" caused today? Really don't understand this hatred people seem to have with a forum. Weird.

I haven't got a 'hatred' as you put it for OVF! I was just pointing out the fact that imagine the moaning and groaning that would have gone on in 1954 had we had OVF!!

Its not like we didn't know we would be playing Crewe away since June!!

Well no it’s not the date more than the method of getting a ticket. We know vale very rarely release tickets on a Saturday so it’s 99% likely to be a weekday. If you work weekdays you know either you need a mate to help out or chance some being left on general sale.
