I wonder if this is because Lainton has picked up an injury? Sadly (I don't wish injury on anyone) he does seem to pick them up.

 

If he was then this recall for Hornby would make sense.

Neither keeper isn't exactly covering themselves in glory. It has to be a priority come the summer. I heard a rumour Lainton has a knock (and in other news water is wet).

Can't do any harm to bring him back, he is more experienced than Ryan and hopefully less injury prone than Rob Lainton.

Footballs a harsh game and I feel for Lainton, but as many of us predicted at the start of the season its shown that we can't rely on a keeper with such an horrendous injury record. Which is a real shame for him.

Not sure of his contract, but get rid asap for me. Just about an average keeper when fit, but still unreliable as hell even then.

I may be wrong here, but i'm sure Pope in his Sentinel column ( which he shouldn't write ) alluded to the fact in his opinion Lainton is a top keeper WHEN he is fit.

Merely a look at Wiki tells you 53 games in 7 seasons is an injury prone guy, dislocated thumb, groin tear, shoulder injury etc etc.

Wonder if anyone agrees with me , IF we stay up that Kelle Roos is worth re-visiting? I thought after initial jitters that he was turning into a decent keeper and then bang he gets injured. Think he then went to Plymouth who have had more keepers than us.
