Stories like this are classic propaganda peddled by people with a vested interest in promoting a right wing 'hard Brexit' giving the ridiculous impression that the EU are some kind of enemy state that wishes to punish the UK.

The concept that UK driving licences may not be accepted in post brexit EU has come from the EU commission.

elections occur every 5yrs or sooner if the party in asks for one, referendums are extremely rare and are by act of parliament due to the principle of parliamentary sovereignty...
Correct, the referendum bill was for an advisory referendum, but this was never made clear. I assume that the powers in charge thought it did not matter, people would vote to stay in and there was no need to plan for anything else. But things don't always go to plan, so how to pull the country together? Find out the best deal we can get and put it to the country in a mandatory referendum, and to ensure a decisive result insist upon a 60% majority similar to that which took us in. Thus a clear cut result, people will know what they are voting for, and far fewer uncertain of the outcome.

Don't forget to blame Sky when the film studios don't offer you as good a deal.

They are holding me for ransom. Don’t they know who I am. They need me. Sky not giving me a better deal than the one I had proves that I’m right in cancelling my subscription.

There's obviously not enough bright sparks about.Perhaps that's why Jezza's promising his young sheep free unicorns and tuition fees?

Must be awesome being told that we can’t afford no tuition fees by the generation who benefited from no tuition fees. How stupid of them. They can think about it for while as they pay it off and wait to be able to save up to put a deposit on a house.

to save you going blue in the face, in the above situation i'd vote in the best intrests of my constituents...cause its they I serve.

In p.f's case he didn't vote for his constituents he followed his party line, the free vote he voted the way of the lesser vote which just happened to be the party line...

And could have just been his own personal take on it, are politicians not allowed to think for themselves? I think saying that you would abandon your belief of what is right to serve your constituents shows that you obviously don't have that strong a belief you are right despite all the posturing on here. Thanks.

Well, brexit was successful because of the older generations. That’s fact. So who else’s fault is it? It’s east to vote for something when you’re pension isn’t at risk despite not paying enough, your mortgage is paid and you no longer have to worry about your job. They can just focus on those pesky immigrants and flag waving. We’re Great Britain they’ll have to give us what we want. The amount of times I heard that before the vote.

no your wrong, and if he does that then he's wrong... his position as a mp is to represent his constituents, and work for their benefit, end of...

To highlight the level of detailed agreements that need to be sorted out. It's a point of politics, never in a million years will it actually happen a bit like freeing up £350m a week to spend on the NHS.

So it wasn't "classic propaganda peddled by people with a vested interest in promoting a right wing 'hard Brexit'". I thought not.

No, you are wrong. An MP has responsibility to their constituents, parliament and their political party. So it's not just someone who should be doing anything and everything their constituents want them too.

I honestly don't understand why Labour supporters should be upset at leaving the EU.

If it all goes **** up, The tories will be unelectable for a generation, especially when Sir Lancelot Corbyn negotiates our re-entry.
