Brexit again...

I again agree, we need a deal, but what with the eu not being in the mood to talk, and our negotiators not being more forthcoming on our proposals, it seems overs the years and months the eu have more or less said what they need, and don't seem to be able to budge. Now we have I think made any concessions we can and are stuck over the Irish backstop, they must see that this is the main stumbling block for us, and yet wont budge...

How can there not be a border between two countries in different customs or trading markets? But  when there is an International agreement that there should not be one between the 2 countries, with the US as a signatory (With 10% Irish ancestry). As an aside the DUP opposed the GFA, which includes the right for a referendum on unity when there is significant change, surely Brexit would be.

The UK has signed up that's all you need to know, if there wasn't any clout in it why would those countries not sign up.

We have to wait and see how the global pact on migration pans out but the point is still valid that there are supranational organizations that can take precedent over UK law even when the UK is not part of the EU.

FUA, I take it you agree about Sovereignty being a weak argument viz Brexit from your lack of comment.

It's not legally binding though.

The pact was agreed by all 193 members, except the USA last July, however at the ceremony to adopt the text only 164 countries formally adopted it.

Sorry, but what was the question about sovereignty?

The Brexit vote was a predominantly middle class vote from tories in Hampshire. How can you say that remain are the elite?! Look at people supporting brexit... mogg, johnson, farage, tice, banks...these are the elite!

The actual government spent £9m publishing a leaflet to everyone on why we should remain. The next biggest donor to a campaign in the referendum was Sainsbury (Remain). Although admittedly Banks was third and of the top 10 individual donors, more was raised in favour of brexit.

Take into account the people who control much of the media. It really is the wealthy elite that want to remain.

We can of course revoke, re-assess where we are in a few years and see if the will to leave is still there.

Or we could leave like we voted, and re-assess where we are in a few years and see if the will to join the EU is there.

What evidence do you have that the will to leave has diminished significantly enough to not only change the result but to overrule it? It would surely have to be a 60-40 remain victory to completely overrule the first vote? You couldn't just win 52-48 and expect brexiters to accept that we're remaining after the way we've been treated?

Wonder if zero hour contracts have something to do with that.

Yeah so our youth unemployment is actually higher? that strengthen's his point.

He's saying our youth unemployment is lower than other countries in the eu...well we are still in the eu.

Do you think leaving the eu will increase employment? Please do explain how.

If there is a No Deal it will be solely down to intransigence of the EU.They won't accept that their withdrawal agreement is a dead duck in parliament. They only want to keep the backstop in because it ties us to the customs union forever.

Delaying tactics until the vote is reversed has always been their strategy when other countries have tried to leave. It won't happen this time and until they see sense and decide to sit around the table again it's a lose/lose situation for everbody.

Boris shouldn't be surprised that, if he points a finger at the EU, there are 27 pointed back  at him.

Well yeah leaving the EU will be fantastic economically speaking and so I would expect employment to rise.

But the point I think he was making is that youth unemployment is ridiculously high in the EU generally so why would young people vote to remain?.

Mogg Esquire does not think that of the economy,, may take 50 years. Different for wealthy bankers and Hedge Funders dealing short though.

Would be good for Tim wetherspoon too as people will be poorer and have no choice but to use his establishment.

Brexit party bus lost control today and crashed whilst on a campaign trail. Perfect analogy for their party.... thought brexit was about regaining control.

Thought I saw that a few days ago? Perhaps it's happened again. 😊

The same young people who have nowhere to go because their youth clubs have been shut down and public services been taken away by the political choice of austerity from the tories.

So I ask again...... what's changed between the youth of today and yesterday?
