Brexit again...

Recommended Posts

Yet another project fear, people are beginning to see the damage No deal will bring. Doubt that is the case with you, you can't see it when it's staring you in the face.

The graph is pie in the sky ******** doomsday project fear scenarios that aren't going to happen anyway.

Plus, they want brexit but not if it means a Corbyn government which is the most serious threat facing our economy today.

Would remainers remain even if it meant that we give up our democracy? How would that graph look? I suspect it hasn't been made yet because it's pointless.

Presuming by your lack of response that it wasn't drivel then Davebrad?

in my opinion it was, any set of figs can be digested in different ways... you mention Ireland, why is the border up to us? the eu says it has to be one, Ireland is in the eu why isn't it their problem. A few months ago the irish pm nearly had kittens because the eu said it was up to him, and he went running off to talks with the eu. My squalid party? I've voted Lib Dems till Cameron f**ked them up in coalition, and with the terrible twins jez and john I would never vote for them so the cons were the only ones left. The only people sacrificing the unity of the uk are the snp, dup, through political aspirations, and the remainers who want to change the result of the referendum, Lastly i'm not your pal...

I voted Remain. I do not want to change the result. But there is a big big difference between coming out with a deal, and crashing out without a deal.

The graph was from an opinion poll by You Gov an independent polling company. It’s a poll of Tory members who don’t give a **** about the country by all accounts

I see a graph of people who care deeply enough about the country, democracy and freedom.

Erm... you seem a bit confused. You do realise that my comment was aimed at Warren and not you?

Also, my point isn't regarding whether the border will be changed or not etc, it was to do with the poll that showed how members of the conservative party, the people who will be choosing our next prime minister, are willing (by a ration of 2:1) to sacrifice the unity of our country and to accept significant damage to the UK economy if it means they get Brexit. Whether those things will or won't happen, the mere fact that the party members are willing to accept them happening speaks volumes and I find that an absolute disgrace. It's also disgusting how they are more concerned about the future of their own party than the future of the UK. Is that ok, my love?

I'm interested in why you think a Corbyn government would threaten our economy.

It's only since the 1980s that there has been a purely capitalistic economy in Britain; before that and since the 1940s it was a mixed economy made up of both private and public industries. There were booms and busts in equal measure during that period, pretty much as there have been between the 80s and now. So nationalisation wasn't the cause of either, hence if it was reintroduced there's no reason to assume it would necessarily lead to either scenario.

The reason for privatising was ideological, not economic, just as the reverse would be true. It doesn't necessarily lead to a diminution of our economy. It would though put more of the proceeds of trade into the hands of government rather than private individuals or institutions.

He is a proven liar.

He makes wild manifesto promises which are unaffordable in order to win votes.

He is an idiot whose actions are anti-british time and time again.

Anyone who thinks it is a good negotiating tactic to bin your best card is not fit to rule the country.

because when he outlines the labour spending policies his main money source is by increasing the higher rate tax band,

Completely untrue. Absolute lie. Labour's biggest source of additional income (judging from their last manifesto) would come from increasing corporation tax which they stated would raise nearly £20bn. The money raised from increasing tax on higher earners would raise less than 1/3 of that.

Sounds a bit like Boris Johnson!

The graphs really are meaningless and don't show what you are claiming they show, you can stop posting them now.

Check out the clown ranting and raving about "anti-British" when tory members are willing to see the break up of the uk and plunge the country in to financial crisis.

Check out the personal insults yet again.

People have been willing to give their lives for democracy in the past. Millions of them.

Plus, the economy will be better when we leave and it's up to Scotland if they want to leave or not - it would be quite funny if they did vote to leave, should we respect that vote or tear it up in line with the brexit precedent?

Anyone who seriously thinks a serial liar and a cheat, a man who has twice been sacked, makes things up as he goes along and does not learn his brief should be the next PM needs to wake up and smell the coffee.

He might make a stand up comedian at Edinburgh festival with his Ken Dodd hairstyle and immature behaviour but we are here discussing a potential future PM not a contestant on the Comedians.

Just when you think the Tory Party has plumbed the depths it ends up in the gutter. He's a buffoon and totally unsuited for high office. End of.

How shocking that the forum defender of racists should support the man who wrote

They say he is shortly off to the Congo. No doubt the AK47s will fall silent, and the pangas will stop their hacking of human flesh, and the tribal warriors will all break out in watermelon smiles to see the big white chief touch down in his big white British taxpayer-funded bird.

The man who is such a believer in democracy that he and his mates lied and cheated their way through a referendum. So democratic. Never mind, as I said, the stupidity of the Johnson supporters is the country's gain as we'll soon be enjoying a Jeremy Corbyn led Socialist government.
