Brexit again...

The lefties and remainers always default to abuse and name-calling when they lose a debate, election or a referendum.

You'd have thought they'd got used to it by now?😂

Whereas all the Remainers get from the Leavers is 'we won, you lost, suck it up'. Hardly the height of reasoned debate is it?

Don't forget 'project fear' and 'remoaners', both used from day 1.

As Aaron 'numpty manipulator' Banks said before the referendum, the leave side wouldn't win using fact and reason so they focussed on emotion. Unfortunately he was right and demonstrated a large number of people think more with their hearts than their brains.

You read this post, and then read a post claiming that anything like this is 'remoan BS'.

Whatever side of the debate you are on, it is undeniable that arguments advocating a softer/no Brexit are often far better informed than the ones advocating we 'get on with it'. Whether that says anything about the respective debate is up to the reader to decide

Took a few days off the Carvery Thread.

To be honest, I wonder why I even bothered posting all that. Remember “We've brought fact-checkers to a culture war”, Clay Shirky 2016.

People either just ignore you completely or people sneer at you for being a “clever type”. I’m not quite sure why clever is supposed to be an insult.

As someone who isn’t actually that clever I take it as a compliment but it’s indicative of the culture war being waged and the sense of resentment being fuelled in these people.

People voted for what they thought was the right decision, that doesn't make them thick or stupid... although it may well make them wrong.... time will tell.

I thought the common market was a good idea but didn't like the slide into a European state and the push to expand the state.

I would have prefered to stay in simply because of the hit to the exchange rate (other reasons to) which cost me a fair amount of money... it didn't happen... I adjust... life goes on.

Instead of Remainers abusing and name-calling the opposition, they might consider trying to understand why the Leave side actually voted like they did and stop harping on about the economy.

Perhaps the fact that places like Hull,Blackpool and Stoke with three of the lowest household incomes in the country weren't too bothered about the economy?

Don't they think they're poor enough already? Or are they mad? Or, more likely, they really don't get what's coming their way as a result of how they voted?

It's an good point that FUA makes actually. If there are people out there who felt as though they had nothing to lose two years ago, who just lashed out at anything as a sort of a protest vote, and in theory they aren't dogmatically opposed to EU membership, they could well swing a people's vote on the final deal back the other way.

As Bill Clinton said, it is the economy stupid.

Remember folks, that's £3,900 a month on top of an extortionate salary and a pension ordinary folk can only dream of.

It's ever likely they don't want to disclose how they spend these expenses,at the moment no receipts are required, they just receive £3,900 in their bank account every month with no justification whatsoever.

Nice work if you can get it and they want us to carry on contributing to this institution.

Another good reason for Brexit.

Well we know how Farage was spending his. That's why he's currently having his MEP wages docked.

They quick singled him out,who reported him the Kinnock family?

What about the other 750 MEP's,I suppose they are all squeaky clean and are spending their £3,900 a month legally?Never mind,I'm sure the auditor's will confirm this.

Oh,hang on.🤑
